Rachel Totten EMDR Faculty & Consultant

Rachel Totten EMDR Faculty & Consultant EMDR Faculty & Certified EMDRIA Consultant. Helping therapists deepen their craft & clients finally heal. That moment never gets old. I work in two directions.

Upcycling trauma, one session at a time. πŸ“VT, NH, SC & NC I'm Rachel Totten, a Certified EMDRIA Therapist and EMDRIA Approved Consultant, and Faculty at The Center for Excellence in EMDR Therapy. I've spent years sitting with people in their hardest moments β€” watching the brain do something remarkable when it finally feels safe enough to heal. I call it the Upcycling Moment β€” when pain stops being

something to survive and starts becoming something that shapes you in ways you never expected. For therapy clients in Vermont, New Hampshire, South Carolina, and North Carolina β€” I offer EMDR therapy and intensives for people who are ready to stop managing their trauma and actually heal it. For therapists β€” I offer EMDR consultation and training for clinicians who finished basic training and are hungry to go deeper. Not just to get their hours. Because they love this work and want to keep getting better at it. I believe EMDR is one of the most powerful tools we have. I also believe it takes a lifetime to truly master β€” and that the best therapists never stop learning. If you're a therapist who wants a consultant who's as passionate about this work as you are, I'd love to connect.

That's overcompensation β€” one of the patterns that shows up when we're carrying beliefs like these. It's not conscious, and it's not something people choose. It's the nervous system's way of managing an old belief that never got resolved.

If this resonates, or if you know someone it might resonate with, feel free to share it.

Following every phase correctly doesn't mean the process is actually landing.
That's the protocol trap. Steps checked. Something still missing.
Made a carousel on 3 signs you're in it. Swipe through.
If one hits close to home β€” that's not failure. That's just being a clinician working this model honestly. It's also exactly what consultation is for.

Phase 8 gets treated like a formality. It's not.
It's where you find out if the work actually landed.
Made a carousel on the common mistakes therapists make here β€” some quiet, easy to miss, even with good training.
Tag a colleague who needs to see this.
And if you're headed to EMDRIA Conference EMDR International Association in Anaheim β€” come find me. I'm presenting on Phase 8 re-evaluation, and I'd love to meet you in person.

Out of everyone who submitted, getting chosen to speak on something I'm this passionate about is a pretty big deal for me.
My session is on Phase 8 β€” reevaluation β€” which honestly might be my favorite part of the whole EMDR model. I call it "adaptive juice" (really, adaptive information emerging), and I love getting to talk about that magic.
Mostly though, I'm just excited to meet colleagues, make connections, and be in a room with people who get just as excited about this work as I do.
Looking forward to meeting you all in Anaheim. πŸ’›
