September looks like…

A longer horse care coverage this week for one of my favorite herds, and a bonus barn kitty (ps, she’s looking for a new home!)

I get to see these guys again at the end of the month as well as some new horse care clients. I have done body work for them previously and they are familiar faces on here. More to come on that!

September is filling up very quickly, I’ve only got a few spots open for body work sessions so if you’d like to get in this month please reach out as soon as possible!

Thank you! 🫶🏻

Dixie 🌻

12 year old Quarter Horse Mare, this sweet girl is a new client of mine. I met her this morning for the first time and she has really kind and quiet energy to her.

Her momma just got her about a year ago and they are still learning each other. She is off to the trainers in a couple weeks to get some conditioning and consistency put into her. She is quite the forward mover and has a hard time finding relaxation through her body when in movement. Time will help her with that. Creating balance in her body, showing her how to carry and use her body correctly, and letting her feel good in her own body will give her the best shot at being an incredible animal.

I look forward to working with her again once she is back from training!

Thank you for the trust🫶🏻

Sir William… before I say anything I just need to mention how much I love this horse. His personality shines so brightly and he is such a big love bug. This big ol standardbred is coming back from a pretty significant hoof condition that his momma has nearly broken her back taking care of (not literally… but you get what I mean) His sheer size alone makes it hard to manage his feet… not to mention when they are painful and needing daily treatment and care. Go Momma!!!!

He is on the mend and working his way back up into work and being the goodest boy. I mean he already was but even more so now!

His topline muscles, poll and glutes were incredibly tight from harboring tension from his ouchy hoof for quite a few weeks. He let me know just where he needed the most work, rocking back and forth to work out his releases and ended our session with many yawns and licks and chews!

Again, stopping to say I just love this boy! I’ll see you in a couple weeks big sir! 🫶🏻🐴

Motion thoroughly enjoyed her bodywork session today. She really has come around to the idea of letting go and letting people help her when it comes to her body. She had a chiro appointment last week where they found a large trigger point on her right side that was pulling her ribs out of place. She also had bilateral restrictions in her poll which was really limiting her ability to release through her head and neck as she was moving. She was extremely sensitive in these areas while the chiropractor was working on them and when I worked on her the first time. But today I felt she way less defensive about these areas and she finally sank into the feel goods 🫶🏻

We worked through some residual tightness in her poll (Re**us Capitis Lateralis) as well as worked on breaking up some of the trigger point in her back to help release her rib muscles (Longissimus Costarum). After her session I noticed that she was able to have more lateral flexion through her ribcage and the flow of movement through her body was more cohesive. This allowed her hind end to travel and reach more up underneath herself. In turn, stretching through her topline and through her poll to allow her to stretch down and have a really lovely floaty trot and canter.

It is quite mind blowing to be able to feel the tightness, be able to release it, and then watch the immediate effects it has in the horse’s body and the way they move afterwards.

We are more than halfway through 2026 and as the colder months draw closer and summer festivities start to slow down it’s got me yearning for more. More learning, more education, more growth. I find myself trying to do all of the things at once and at times it feels really overwhelming. Checking in with myself recently on what my goals are for Hands of Harmony and where I’d like to see it go. I’ve got some pretty great and exciting learning opportunities that are lined up to hopefully bring more knowledge to my business but also to apply it when working with my clients.

My passion is for the care and management of horses. I do quite a bit of horse care coverage and I would love to continue to do that. To meet new clients and to help care for their horses whether that may be just a weekend away or a longer period of time where you need to place the worry of your horses onto someone who comes with many years of professional and personal experience managing horses.

As for the body work part of Hands of Harmony, I am always yearning for more hands on experience when it comes to learning horses bodies and the science behind what is happening both on the inside and outside. I am working on gaining more knowledge about biomechanics, ways to improve posture, strength, body awareness, and so much more. So stay tuned for that!

I am also incredibly grateful for my place of work who allows me to help their herd every other week on areas that they are struggling with when it comes to their restrictions in motion. As well as all of the numerous opportunities I get to be apart of during the week while I am working. Learning more about training, learning more about proper, effective, and appropriate practices when it comes to equine care. But it doesn’t end there, this place fills the soul and makes me incredibly excited for what the future looks like.

But above all, this is a post to remind myself that it’s not all going to happen over night. There is something to be said about the journey horses take us on. We just have to be patient enough to enjoy every moment of it.

Thank you all,
From Olivia, of Hands of Harmony Equine Care and Wellness. 🐴
