Alzheimers Research Foundation

Alzheimers Research Foundation The goal of Alzheimer’s Research Foundation is simple… TO FIND A CURE FOR ALZHEIMER’S.

Alzheimer’s is the most common form of dementia and currently affects over 5 million Americans. Discovered over 100 years ago by Doctor Alois Alzheimer, it is a progressive neurological disease that causes memory loss, confusion, and a decline in functionality. While the majority of people with Alzheimer’s are age 65 and older, up to 5 percent of people with Alzheimer’s are in their 40’s and 50’s.

Alzheimer’s can be a devastating disease both for the people who suffer from it, and for friends and family members who have to deal with the fact that their loved one no longer remembers them. Unfortunately, there is no known cure for Alzheimer’s…but thanks to organizations like Alzheimer’s Research Foundation, we’re getting closer.

There isn’t one single path to solving Alzheimer’s disease. That’s why research explores multiple ways to support a healthier brain.

From improving neuroplasticity and brain oxygenation to supporting blood flow, mitochondrial function, reducing inflammation, and promoting the growth of new blood vessels, every discovery helps us better understand this complex disease and brings us one step closer to better treatments.

Research like this is only possible because of people who believe in the future of brain health. Become a $25 monthly donor and help fund the next generation of Alzheimer’s research. Your ongoing support helps accelerate discoveries that could change millions of lives.

Some people leave a legacy that lasts a lifetime.

For Patrick McHenry, that legacy is his mother. While Alzheimer’s changed so much, it could never erase the impact she had on his life.

Patrick shared his story to honor his mother and to thank the Alzheimer’s Research Foundation and the McKnight Brain Institute at the University of Florida for advancing the research that gives families hope for a better future.

You can help move that research forward. Become a monthly donor for just $25 a month and support the next generation of Alzheimer’s breakthroughs.

Forgetfulness isn’t the only early sign of Alzheimer’s.

Recognizing these signs early can make a meaningful difference. An early evaluation may help identify cognitive changes sooner, opening the door to earlier intervention, better planning, and access to emerging treatments and clinical research.

Knowledge is one of our most powerful tools in the fight against Alzheimer’s.

Nearly 2 in 3 Americans living with Alzheimer’s are women, and millions more provide care for loved ones facing the disease.

Researchers continue to study why women are disproportionately affected, exploring factors like genetics, menopause, and brain health.

Every breakthrough begins with research, and you can help make the next one possible.

Become a $25 monthly donor and help fund the next generation of researchers working to prevent, treat, and one day cure Alzheimer’s disease.

Some stories become the reason behind a lifetime of research.

When Dr. Brittany DeFeis watched her grandmother, Joan, slowly lose her memories to Alzheimer’s, it changed everything. Seeing someone she loved forget the people and moments that defined her inspired Dr. DeFeis to dedicate her career to finding ways to stop this disease before it takes hold.

Today, we’re making progress. Researchers are discovering that Alzheimer’s can be identified and addressed much earlier than ever before, creating new hope for future generations.

But breakthroughs don’t happen without support.

For just $25 a month, you can help fund the next generation of Alzheimer’s researchers working toward earlier detection, better treatments, and one day, a cure.

What if we could detect Alzheimer’s years before memory loss begins?

Research shows that changes in the brain can begin 10–20 years before symptoms appear. That window gives scientists the opportunity to study, intervene, and work toward treatments that could change the course of the disease. Every breakthrough starts with research, and that research is made possible by people who choose to give.

Become a monthly donor for just $25/month and help fund the scientists working toward earlier detection, better treatments, and, ultimately, a cure.

Your support today could help change someone’s tomorrow.

Did you know speaking more than one language may benefit your brain as you age? Research suggests that bilingual individuals may have stronger cognitive flexibility, the ability to adapt, switch between tasks, and respond to changing situations. This skill plays an important role in everyday thinking and may help provide resilience against age-related cognitive decline. While there’s still much to learn about how the brain ages, studies continue to highlight the powerful connection between lifelong learning, mental engagement, and brain health.

At the Alzheimer’s Research Foundation, we’re committed to supporting the scientists uncovering these important discoveries. Your $25 monthly donation helps fund groundbreaking research aimed at understanding, preventing, and treating Alzheimer’s disease.

Together, we can help build a future with healthier brains and better outcomes for generations to come.
