✨ Introducing Tara Baxter ✨

Tara Baxter is the Church Administrator at Church of the Cross and has been part of the Saline County Food Action Team since its beginning in 2023. As FACT secretary, she brings a passion for building trust, strengthening community relationships, and connecting people and organizations around shared solutions.

Having experienced food insecurity herself when she was younger, Tara understands how quickly circumstances can affect a person's ability to put food on the table. She believes lasting change requires different voices, experiences, and ideas working together.

Her vision is simple but powerful: a Saline County where families can do more than survive- they can thrive.

**Reduce Food Waste Tip of the Month - Check before you shop!**

Before making your grocery list, take five minutes to look through your refrigerator, freezer, and pantry.

You'll:
🥕 Avoid buying duplicates
💲 Save money
🥗 Use food before it spoils
🗑️ Throw away less

A quick inventory can make a big difference for your wallet and for reducing food waste in Saline County.

**Challenge:** Before your next grocery trip, find three ingredients you already have and build a meal around them!

There is a lot to think about with the recent onslaught of food safety recalls. For years, Prairieland has championed Community-Supported Agriculture as a way to support local farmers and truly connect our customers to how and where their food is grown.

Our subscription program guarantees a steady income for our farmers and the freshest food for you! Pay a flat amount each week and get a box full of produce grown using small-scale and earth-friendly methods. Taste the difference of produce ripened in the sun—not in a warehouse.
