We need gatekeepers, people who are willing to really examine power and oppression in the clinical supervision space, and who want to learn how to use their power, not just examine oppression. Thank you for showing up 💜

Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who came out to the On the Purple Couch launch party.

Being in person, witnessing conversations just hit different.

The conversation was rich. We talked about navigating and healing from anti-blackness in San Antonio. Being tired of the microaggressions. Asking how we protect each other and heal from all of that.

When Kimiya told the room about the white lady who tried to touch my hair the first time I met her, the gasp everyone made was healing for all of us to hear.

Sometimes we need a room full of people to react to what we have normalized just to remember it is not normal.

Thank you to American Express and Main Street America for the grant that made this possible. The funding was the push I needed.

People always ask me how I create a healing space. This podcast is the platform for me to share that with the community here in San Antonio, and anywhere else people want to listen.

We are already thinking about a part two. Anti-blackness is a structural issue and a personal one, and I am grateful I can keep this conversation going.

Thank you for giving me permission to move forward, and for making me not feel alone.

"On the Purple Couch" is my new live series, real conversations with people I've actually held space for, healing from capitalism, patriarchy, ableism, and homophobia in real time. I'm not trying to be the expert in the room. I just want to tell the truth, out loud.
