As a new school year begins, Duke Personal Care Home would like to take a moment to lift up all of our children, teachers, administrators, bus drivers, cafeteria workers, custodians, counselors, coaches, and everyone who plays a role in guiding and supporting our youth. ❤️

Lord, we ask that You cover and protect them all as they begin this new chapter. Bless our children with confidence, understanding, courage, and a desire to learn and grow.

Bless our teachers and school staff with patience, wisdom, strength, and compassion as they guide our youth through another important milestone in their lives. Give them the patience to teach, the wisdom to lead, and the heart to recognize when a child simply needs encouragement and someone to believe in them.

Keep our children and school staff safe as they travel to and from school. Watch over every school bus, classroom, hallway, cafeteria, playground, and campus. Place a hedge of protection around them each and every day.

May this school year bring growth, success, new friendships, meaningful lessons, and beautiful memories. May our children always remember that they are loved, valued, capable, and worthy of every opportunity placed before them.

Our hearts are heavy as we witness the devastating flooding affecting so many families. We feel tremendous sadness knowing that our own hometown has been impacted by this tragedy.

We are praying for the safety of those still in harm’s way, for comfort for those who have experienced loss, and for strength for the first responders, volunteers, and communities working tirelessly to help.

During times like these, we’re reminded of the importance of coming together, showing compassion, and supporting one another. If you are able, please continue to check on your neighbors, lend a helping hand, and keep those affected in your prayers.
