Many schools are welcoming students back next week—but for parents of children with IEPs, back-to-school often brings a lot of questions.

✔️ Will the supports be in place?
✔️ Does the new teacher understand my child’s needs?
✔️ Should I ask for an IEP meeting?
✔️ What if something doesn’t feel right?

You don’t have to figure it out alone.

At Elevate IEP, we help families understand their child’s IEP, prepare for meetings, and confidently advocate throughout the school year.

The best time to prepare is before challenges arise.

📚 Let’s start the school year with confidence.

📚✨ Back-to-School IEP Checklist ✨📚

Before the school year begins, take a few minutes to prepare: not just your child’s backpack, but their support plan too. 💚

✔️ Read the latest progress report
✔️ Gather work samples from last year
✔️ Write down your questions and concerns
✔️ Think about goals for the new school year
✔️ Save your case manager’s contact information
✔️ Organize your IEP paperwork in one place
✔️ Introduce yourself to your child’s teacher
✔️ Celebrate! You’ve already taken a big step toward a successful year! 🎉

A little preparation now can make your next IEP meeting more productive and help your child start the school year with the support they deserve.

Summer is a great time to slow down, make memories, and build important skills along the way. ☀️

Learning doesn’t have to look like worksheets or tutoring. Reading together, practicing everyday life skills, maintaining routines, encouraging social opportunities, and reviewing your child’s IEP can all help set the stage for a successful return to school.

As both an autism mom and special education administrator, I’ve seen how small, intentional moments can make a big difference in a child’s confidence and growth.
