They are Veterans build community and rebuild their lives through gaming, connection and supportive resources. Many soldiers isolate and tend to struggle to cope when reintegrating back into society… gaming offers a platform where they can connect and interact with others and begin to open doors to healing.
I am honored to serve the military in honor of my Grandfather I never met, because he was a POW and died shortly after returning home from the Batan Death March and years in captivity. The fortitude these soldiers display deserves so much more respect and resources than they leave active duty with currently.
💥WHY GAMING AND MENTAL HEALTH?💥
Esports and Gaming:
• The gaming industry is a $189.3B industry growing at a rate of 19.6%
• 2.3 billion people game world-wide
• Esports revenue in 2019 was $1.1B with a 37% CAGR
• Esports audience will be 500M+ in 2021 with a CARG of 11.3%
Mental Health Challenges:
• 22 American Veterans commit su***de daily!! 🥺
• Significant rise in Acute Stress Disorders
(ASD) and PTSD (brought on by COVID-19)
• Su***de is the second leading cause of death among ages 15-34
• 75% of High School and Higher Education Students reported worsened or significantly worsened mental health during
