Kevin C. Murphy of Murphy Jones APC examines the evolving legal and regulatory framework governing California nurse practitioners following implementation of 103 and 104 practice authority. Using disciplinary cases and Board enforcement trends, the presentation will analyze common allegations leading to investigations by the California Board of Registered Nursing, including documentation deficiencies, prescribing issues, referral obligations, supervision and collaboration requirements, and employer reporting. Attendees will gain practical guidance for representing nurse practitioners in licensing, disciplinary, and employment-related matters and advising healthcare clients regarding regulatory compliance and risk management.
