🌊 **Currently: Out of Office-ish**

Trading my yoga mat for fins for a few days. 🤿☀️

Andy and I are soaking up a little La Paz time—diving, exploring, eating very well (because Mexico 😋) and enjoying the kind of days where you don't really need to know what time it is.

This little getaway has been such a good reminder:

You don't always need a BIG vacation to reset.

Sometimes a few days away from your normal routine is enough to make you slow down, look around and remember how good it feels to simply be where your feet are.

Or in today's case…where your fins are. 😉

Back to regularly scheduled life soon. For now, I'm wandering. 💛

☀️ **A Little More Summer, Please**

August always feels like a funny little in-between.

Summer is still very much here, but you can feel fall waiting in the wings. Calendars start filling up. Plans start taking shape. And suddenly we're looking ahead instead of enjoying where we are.

So today's reminder (for me too!):

**Life doesn't slow down on its own. Sometimes we have to choose to wander.**

For me, that means sneaking away with Andy for a few days in La Paz this week. 🌊🤿☀️ A little diving, exploring, taco eating and R&R before a wonderfully busy fall begins.

For you, maybe wandering looks like a beach walk, an afternoon with nowhere to be, dinner outside, or finally taking that little day trip you've been talking about all summer.

There's still plenty of summer left.

Go enjoy some of it. 💛

✨ **8/8 • The Lion’s Gate Portal** 🦁

There’s something I love about the idea of a threshold — that moment between where we’ve been and where we’re going.

Today, 8/8, is known as the Lion’s Gate Portal, a day often associated with courage, intention, transformation and possibility.

Whether you connect with the astrology or simply use today as a meaningful pause, I love the invitation:

What are you ready to release?

What are you ready to make space for?

And what might happen if you trusted yourself enough to take the next step — even without knowing exactly where it leads?

That was our practice today at my slow flow class. Not forcing. Not figuring it all out. Just getting quiet enough to listen…and brave enough to move forward.

✨ **The door is open. Step through with courage, trust what’s calling you, and make space for what’s ready to unfold.**

Happy 8/8, friends. 🦁✨

Had a fantastic day leading two yoga classes at the Curebound Cancer Challenge yesterday at UCSD. We love supporting other great nonprofits and their work to improve the lives of those living with cancer. Be Well Therapy ⎸ Yoga for Cancer Recovery was proud to take part in this event and share a bit about our program. Thank you Curebound for inviting us! And thanks to our fabulous team of Be Well teachers! Deb Schork Grounded Wellness • Kris Whitney Holly Darner Fankhanel

🤠 This is 58.

Today I’m celebrating another trip around the sun…and feeling incredibly grateful.

This birthday has been a little different. It’s been filled with both deep sadness after saying goodbye to our sweet Merlin and beautiful moments that reminded me how resilient our hearts can be.

I’ve learned that joy and grief aren’t opposites—they often walk hand in hand.

So today I’m choosing gratitude.

❤️ For Andy.
❤️ For Mason.
❤️ For family and friends.
✈️ For adventures still ahead.
💙 For this amazing community.
✨ And for another year to keep teaching, traveling, loving, and saying yes to the things that make me feel most alive.

Here’s to 58.

I have a feeling it’s going to be a pretty great year.

💙 Mary

P.S. Apparently 58 comes with cowboy boots, a cowboy hat, and an imaginary guitar solo…and honestly, I’m digging it. 🤠🎸😂

🗽 Confession:

Andy wasn't exactly excited about visiting New York City.

As someone who loves ocean views, open spaces, and a slower pace of life, crowded streets and towering skyscrapers weren't high on his bucket list.

Then we spent a few days exploring the city while celebrating a milestone that still feels surreal—his company's debut on the New York Stock Exchange.

Somewhere between the 9/11 Memorial, Central Park, rooftop views, incredible meals, and simply wandering through neighborhoods full of history and character...

New York won him over.

Completely.

A good reminder that sometimes the things we think aren't "for us" end up becoming experiences we treasure most.

Stay curious.

Stay open.

Life still has plenty of surprises waiting.

(And yes...he's already talking about going back. 😄)

☀️ The Summer Solstice is here!

The longest day of the year is a beautiful reminder to pause and reflect on all that has grown since winter.

What seeds have you planted?
What has flourished?
What lessons have emerged?

So often we're focused on the next goal, the next milestone, the next thing that needs our attention. The Solstice invites us to stop long enough to celebrate how far we've already come.

This year I'm reflecting on purpose, gratitude, connection, and the simple joy of being fully present.

May we all find a little time this weekend to stand in our light, honor our journey, and remember that joy doesn't have to wait until everything is perfect.

It can begin today. ☀️💛

💛 This week I have the privilege of leading two women's retreats back-to-back so I'll be MIA from my public classes for a few days.

First with an incredible group from Living Beauty Cancer Foundation, followed by the first of our biannual Be Well Women's Retreats.

Watching women set aside their responsibilities for a few days, reconnect with themselves, rest deeply, laugh, heal, and rediscover their own strength is one of life's greatest gifts.

People often ask me what my purpose is.

This is it.

Creating spaces where women feel supported, seen, nurtured, and empowered to care for themselves.

It isn't always easy work, but it is deeply meaningful work.

And it fills my heart every single time.

Feeling incredibly grateful to spend Solstice week surrounded by women choosing healing, connection, self-care, and joy. ☀️

I saw this quote in Cabo just before boarding a boat that would become home for the next 10 days.

One boat.
30 guests.
12 crew members.
People from the U.S., Canada, Spain, Germany, Mexico, the Netherlands, Israel, Malta, and beyond.

No politics.
No arguing.
No labels.

Just a shared love of the ocean and a deep respect for the incredible creatures that call it home.

For over a week we crossed open ocean together, celebrated birthdays together, shared meals together, and watched in awe together as giant mantas, whale sharks, dolphins, and countless sharks appeared beneath us.

It reminded me of something important:

Most of us have far more in common than we realize.

Sometimes all it takes is stepping outside our daily routines, traveling a little farther, and allowing ourselves to be humbled by something bigger than ourselves.

This trip changed me.

Not because of the places I visited, but because of the perspective I brought home.

🌊 Have you ever had a trip that changed the way you see the world?

Revillagigedo Archipelago, Part 3: Sharks. Sharks. & More Sharks!

And not a single one even remotely interested in tasting the strange-looking humans. 😉

Curious silkies, aloof silvertips, impressive Galapagos sharks, swarms of whitetips, wiggly schooling hammerheads — and yes, even a gorgeous tiger shark headed to the “spa” at a cleaning station on our last day of diving.

It was the very best kind of shark soup.

Don’t even get me started on how many sharks are killed annually in the shark finning trade… I’ll save that for another post. Ugh.

To spend time up close and personal with these graceful, ancient creatures completely changes your perspective. These are not man-eating monsters. They have been demonized and persecuted ever since that famed movie we all grew up with cast them in the role of villain.

Sharks are a vital link in our precious ocean ecosystem.

So rather than “shark-infested waters,” I much prefer:

Shark-abundant environment.

And it’s one I can’t wait to visit again and again. 🦈🌊. Still more to come on our epic adventure….stay tuned!
