How often do we think of movement as mostly a means of physical change rather than a door to connecting with who we are? 🤔

Respecting your body means caring for it because it's worthy of care, not because it conforms to your expectations or anyone else's.

Our bodies are constantly and faithfully communicating with us through hunger, exhaustion, tension, emotion, illness, pleasure, and stress.

💡Turning a deaf ear to our bodies raises this important question: what are we actually connected to?

Respecting our being in all its fullness, it's healing, it's connection, it's long term wellbeing.

Recovering from an eating disorder involves both emotional and physical challenges. It's truly a multilayer process. As a parent, navigating this complexity can feel both overwhelming and isolating.

At Whole Space, we believe that leaning in with compassion, body respect, and knowledge is one of the best ways we can love and support our children.

Our Approach
We believe in a holistic approach to treating eating disorders, integrating evidence-based therapies with a deep respect for individual experiences. Apologizing for who we are isn't something we were born doing, it's something we learned along the way to protect ourselves. Being true to ourselves may have come at a cost (not being loved, accepted, or feeling that we belonged) or even danger, so we adapted and minimized ourselves. Not only that, 💡our tendency to apologize for who we are has taught other people in our lives how to treat us or what to expect of us.

Change can take many forms: a career shift, a diagnosis, becoming a parent, a gender transition, coming out to your family, marriage, experiencing a loss, or going through a divorce. Each person's experience of change is unique, but one thing is universal: our need for support during times of transition, that, remains constant.

Choosing yourself over and over again is not a personal failing; it's quite the opposite: it's intentionally removing the layers that say, "I am not worthy."

I am:
I am worthy of love.
Worthy of being here.
Worthy of being seen.
Worthy of the time it takes to heal.
Worthy of having a struggle.
Worthy of not knowing.
Worthy of relapse and trying again.
Worthy of being human – especially when it's hard.
