Yolanda Leon has been a hardworking, loyal part of the Paradise Valley Hospital family for 22 years in our Environmental Services department. The quality of her work and her work ethic are universally praised by her colleagues and our leadership staff. “I’m amazed by how much she gets done on one shift,” comments her co-worker in the EVS department. “And it’s never rushed or half-done. I measure myself against what Yola does.” Yolanda’s director, Chelsey Rivera, agrees, “The EVS staff are as essential to hospital operations as the nurses and physicians. We provide our clinical staff with a clean and safe environment where they can perform at their best. Yolanda is one of the best of our outstanding Environmental Services department.”

At a time when his department has understaffed, Sean Lollar took it upon himself to give presentations, with some of his colleagues, to a graduating class of imaging technicians at Grossmont College about employment opportunities at Paradise Valley Hospital. Through his efforts the hospital was able to hire a new employee and help alleviate staffing strain in the imaging department. Sean accomplished the very definition of “above and beyond”: he went out of his way to help his department, his co-workers, and the hospital, all on his own volition. Sean, thank you for being the Paradise Valley Hospital Employee of the Month from September, 2025.

Jacqueline “Jackie” Batista is relatively new to the hospital, but she managed to ingratiate herself with her co-workers quickly with her easy smile and friendly nature. “Jackie is very good with her patients, also,” says Liza Pabalan, Jackie’s director. “She is very much a people person.” “Jackie is knowledgeable and proactive,” says one of Jackie’s co-workers. “In an emergency, I am relieved to see her arrive. I know my patient is in good hands.” Liza notes that Jackie is currently training to work in her department’s Pulmonary Function Test Laboratory. “PFT is a difficult skillset to learn, but Jackie is taking to it very well. We feel very lucky to have her!” Jackie is Paradise Valley Hospital's Employee of the Month from January, 2026.

Charlotte Harris is kind of co-worker you want to work with. One of her peers comments that Charlotte “…has great communication skills, and she helps keep our department safe and secure, and makes our patients feel cared for.” This co-worker goes on to say that, in the ER, some of the patients can be difficult, but Charlotte never loses her cool. “Charlotte always demonstrates grace, and she is always willing to help whenever help is needed.” Thank you, Charlotte!
