Narcissists never quit. Psychopaths and sociopaths- they don't give up.

But you can.

Last night, I had a dream, that woke me from the dead of sleep, and I realized that I was being chased, and it was certain that I was going to die at the hands of my Narcissist.

It felt so real.

I'm a lucid dreamer, so I dove back into the dream, and saw that my dog, a Great Pyrenees, had been waiting for me- but right in the line of fire.
As I realized this, something shifted for me and I ran to her where she was, and as I held her, I realized that I was going to fight back.

I ran with her back into the home where I was staying, and I started to pack a bag, and the people around me said, "What are you doing? This is ridiculous!" And I said, "I'm out of here. I'm. I'm not going to die at his hands! And I took off.

I kept on trying to fix things in the dream: I tried to decide where to go where he wouldn't be able to reach me and multiple times in the dream, he said, "You know, you're not going to be able to get on that plane. I'll find you wherever you are." So, I made multiple plane reservations. Every time I tried to fix something, another issue would pop up... and eventually, I just stopped trying to fix it all and allowed myself to wake.

The reason that I couldn't fix everything in the dream is because the message was really quite simple: he's never going to stop, but I can.

I can stop responding.

I can stop reacting.

I can stop trying to placate him.

I can stop trying to morph into the person that he wants me to be.

I can stop stepping into this Narcissist-Defined Identity, and instead I need to embrace my Soul-Defined Identity.

If you've found yourself wondering if your Narcissist is ever going to stop, or if they're ever going to let me go, perhaps it's time to have conversation.
We'll chat for 45 minutes, on me, just to see if maybe what I have to say or what you have to say can lead you forward to a pathway where you are no longer in the control of the Narcissist, and instead you get to take control of your life.

Message me to schedule!

You can't surrender without faith.

You can't.

It might be faith in yourself. It might be faith in an airplane to take you away from a bad circumstance. It might be faith in a friend or a loved one, or it might be faith in the in the divine, but you can't surrender without it.

You can't walk out of a bad relationship that has beaten you down without faith. You can not know what the next step is going to do for you, or where it's going to take you, but you can't surrender to that process without faith.

Many people get their faith in their religion, or God, or Jesus, or Muhammad, or you name it. People place their faith in a Higher Power and don't assign the Higher Power meaning other than "something greater than the self."

Sometimes our faith is in someone we trust because we've tested them over time, and we see consistency and reliability in that person, and we know they have our back.

But in unhealthy or abusive relationships, we know that the person is consistently not reliable and doesn't have our back, and it makes it hard.

Knowing that there will be someone or that there has been someone who provided that for you can be hard.

During the darkest nights of my soul, I felt desperately alone. I I felt as if there wasn't anything or anyone that I could trust to have my back to carry me forward in that surrender, and it almost ended me.

During that time, I actually had a vision of, I guess, my version of God, who reminded me that I was never alone, that I was always being carried forward, and that I could, in fact, finally surrender, not knowing where it would take me, and when I did, it carried me home.

It carried me to a place where I knew that next morning I could try. I could try anything, and it would be better than the stuck place that I was in, than the dangerous, horrific place that I was in, and that memory has carried me forward my whole life. For the rest of my life, I knew there was something greater than me that would have my back, that I could surrender to, even when I felt desperate, even with all the horrible relationships I've had, even with my cancer diagnosis, I knew that there was something greater than me carrying me forward. Always unsure what forward looked like, but that's okay. I don't need to.

If you're ready to take that next step, if you're sick and tired of being sick and tired, if you are ready to simply surrender to something different than what you have now, contact me because I can help you find the soul that you put in the vault. I can help you find the pathway back to that connection to the divine, or simply your Higher Power, whatever that may be. I'll be waiting for your call.

You jerk awake.

You realize you're drenched- that your sleep has been filled with nightmares of harrowing experiences from the past.

You look around, see where you can ground or calm you, trying to uncover what can soothe your nervous system.

It happens to a lot of us.

Perhaps at a different time in your life, you would wake feeling refreshed and eager for the day. You would have dreamed beautiful spa-like dreams, but somehow this is not how things are for you now.

You notice that you feel plagued by the things that have happened to you, maybe even in your relationship, and you notice that you spend an inordinate amount of time trying to think your way through to something calmer, something better, but somehow you can't. Like your mind just doesn't let you go there.

You feel trapped by those mental limitations, by the pessimism. You may have been the greatest optimist known to mankind before, but now you feel hopeless.

Sometimes when we wake from things that seem horrific in our dream state, we can shift gears mentally and emotionally and psychologically to see that by serving up all that material for you, your being has freed itself from those burdens.

Then it just becomes your job to wade through all the messages, so that they can bring you to a place of true enlightenment and freedom.

If you're struggling to break through, if you're struggling to find that sense of peace, if you're struggling to break out of that stuck space, contact me. That's what I do.

Identity Rot Following Exposure to Toxic Narcissism:

You used to be a ROCKSTAR. You were the one that everyone came to for advice or guidance. You were the one who could outrun, outdo, outsmart EVERYONE.

But now, you're feeling off.

Not like yourself anymore.

Like you're not performing well, or not up to the standards that you're used to.

Like you're just outside yourself.

Like you've lost your mojo and your motivation?

And... are you also in an unhealthy or toxic relationship?

Because if that's the case, you're likely experiencing something we call IDENTITY ROT.

What in the world is identity rot?

Well, when we have a healthy existence, when we grow up in healthy way, our soul drives us to develop an identity that supports us, that moves us forward, that allows us to be the best we can be, but when we meet unhealthy people or soul suckers, we put that soul into the vault, and that Soul-Defined Identity gets squirreled away until the danger has passed. But for many of us, the danger doesn't pass.

We stay in it, or we go from one dangerous relationship to the next, completely oblivious to the fact that we're no longer operating with the soul in the driver's seat.

Now we're just operating from the meat suit, from the human, and the human gets depleted by every act of the Narcissist or soul sucker who wants to feed on us, and unfortunately, slowly but surely, it degrades who we are, and we develop a way of being that we refer to as the Narcissist-Defined Identity. It's the way that we cope with the unhealthy relationship. It's how we keep that Narcissist or soul sucker happy or off our backs.

It's how we survive by staying.

You might wonder, "Why not just leave?"

Well, the reality is, once you're in that Narcissist-Defined Identity, you don't have the wherewithal, or the energy, or the motivation to leave anything.

And usually, it takes something really big, like if you've got kids together, perhaps he goes after one of the kids, and that will propel the mama bear up and out with her children, but if there's not that kind of motivation, that Narcissist is going to continue to have leverage over you and going to keep you depleted and unable to act on your own to restore your soul, or to restore your Soul-Defined Identity.

So, if you're experiencing identity rot, but you're really ready to get up and out of this vicious cycle, contact me. It's what we do.

You've attracted another Narcissist.

AGAIN.

You're feeling helpless, hopeless, and ashamed that THIS is what it's come to- a pattern stuck on repeat that not only doesn't make sense, but isn't in your best interest.

Know what?

It's not your fault.
Your chooser isn't broken.
You didn't CHOOSE another bad relationship on purpose.

You're likely an Old Soul- and we are irresistible "fuel" for Narcissists and soul-suckers.

Whether you (or someone else) relate as an Old Soul, an Empath, a Super Empath, or as a Wise Woman, soul suckers recognize our power and sovereignty, and are desperate to not only feed on it, but to power over us. They see as as "good game."

But, something they don't realize, is that once we recover- once we really reclaim our souls and heal from the damage left by the soul sucker, we can ensure that it'll never happen again. We can ditch that Narcissist magnet for good!

We Old Souls have long memories- and once we exit a toxic relationship, we circle our wagons, send out the bat call to our tribes, and ensure that all our Soul sisters are aware that there are soul suckers in our midst. Old Soul women don't get mad, we get even.

The fully activated and empowered Old Soul is a force to be reckoned with- no longer "good game" for the Narcissist.

If you're tired of being someone's play thing or trophy, and need guidance and support to step back into your power, contact me. It's what we do.

Brain Drain & Narcissistic Abuse

Have you ever found yourself just feeling like, no matter what you do, you can't quite get it all together, and you don't have ADHD?

In your past life, you were that person who could think on your feet and multitask and run a million miles a minute, but now you find yourself just not able to think clearly, not able to finish the task that you set out to, or stopping midway and losing sense of what you're doing.

You're not going through menopause and you don't have baby brain from pregnancy, but you ARE in an unhealthy relationship.

These cognitive issues are some of the telltale signs of Narcissistic abuse.

Being in a relationship that causes you to lose yourself, to have to adhere to another person's truth, or perceptions, or ideas of you, can make you feel like you've got mental MUCK.

When you can't ground in your own truth, when you can't be yourself, when you can't live truthfully, it's hard for your brain to connect and allow your mind to be clear and move effortlessly.

Everything takes work when you're living outside of yourself.

One of the first things we do in Narcissistic abuse recovery is to help you ditch the version of you that was developed to deal with all the demands of the Narcissist- and embrace the REAL you- the one that was capable, strong, intuitive, and ready for anything!

If you notice some of these signs and you're ready to get your mojo (and your life!) back, book a complimentary call here https://calendly.com/drsagebreslin/30-min-meeting.

The gift of soul-driven clarity

Last night, I had a dream about two men- two men carrying the same name (different last names), one who's passed and one who's passed on from my life.

I was so curious about what the dream meant, so I stayed with it, and through lucid dreaming I just kept on asking questions, so that I would better understand the message I was receiving, because here's the thing: for months and months I have been grieving not just the passing of my friend, which was hard, but was also a bit expected, but the passing from my life of the other man. I found myself really struggling to let go, to surrender to the truth, and I didn't want to accept the truth as it came to me. Honestly, I would reject it, even deny it, because it was so painful. But then last night, after praying, I just asked God to help me with this surrender process- help me to just embrace the grief, so that I could finally let go, so that I could live in the now, so I could live in my truth, and that I could move forward.

The great thing about connection to your soul- connection to the Divine- is that it will imbue you with superpowers, like seeing the truth, like accepting reality, not the one that's told to you, but the one that exists inside your being. And this morning, as I woke, and as I studied the dream, and as I studied the man who had passed communicating so clearly to me, I realized he was somebody that I could accept the truth from, he was somebody that could tell me like it was, and in reality the message came from the other man (the message came from God about the other man!), and I was able to finally embrace it.

So, if you notice that you're struggling with things, my suggestion is take a look to see if your soul is in the driver's seat, because if it's not, you will fuss, you'll pitch fits, you will resist, you will deny, you will set aside the truth, you will not be present, and you will not accept the presents that are being bestowed all the time. Sometimes, you just need to lean in and trust those incredible superpowers like intuition and clarity, and you can allow yourself to finally move forward.

You are not Stupid: The Aftermath of Narcissistic Abuse

"I'm so stupid!"

Have you ever heard those words come out of your mouth?

A client said them repeatedly the other day.

"I'm so stupid! I'm so stupid for falling for her. I'm so stupid that I didn't see the signs. I'm so stupid that I keep thinking about her."

It's not about being stupid.

In Narcissistic abuse, soul suckers create this swirling energy. In the beginning, they swoop in and carry you away with their words and actions. They say and do just what you've needed.

It' so fast and furious that you can't get your bearings or ground, and they count on that. It's all part of the manipulation strategy. If they keep you off balance, you'll never really see what's happening. You'll never see those red flags for what they are, and so you fall.

Once you fall, and the hooks are in nice and deep, the mask comes off and you see the web of lies, but feel as if you can't do anything about it. If you make a move to leave, the soul sucker will say or do whatever they need to to get you stay- and might even intimidate or threaten.

It might work for a minute, but you begin to doubt, yet you still can't leave.

The crazy intensity, the stories that don't make sense, the gaslighting, all prevent you from being able to make sense of it all. You spend all of your time investigating, praying that you'll find something that will push you out the door or back into the relationship with that person that you fell in love with initially. But the more you dig, the more data you find, the more you confront and the less truth and reality that you receive.

Eventually you exit but you still have this nagging feeling... if only you can figure it out, then you'll find a way forward. But, honestly, in order to get off that hamster's wheel, you have to find yourself again.

In abusive relationships, we put our souls into the vault for safekeeping and we lose our own truths, we disappear into the relationship, and we lose ourselves.

When you're trying to extricate yourself, the most important thing you can do is to find yourself again, find your truth again, and that's what we do at Sage Wisdom Institute.

We help you restore your soul, reclaim your life, and when we have got the soul back in the driver's seat, and we can see things a little bit more clearly, we help you to activate your soul, so that you can again become the powerhouse that you've been before.

Once you're safe again, once you're out of danger, we can finally help you to recalibrate internally, spiritually, emotionally, physically and psychologically, so that you can redesign the life you choose to live based on renewed clarity, confidence and passion.

If that's something you need help with, please don't hesitate to contact us.

That effortless connection wasn’t always love, loyalty, or destiny. Sometimes it was conditioning.

Narcissistic people are often skilled at creating a sense of deep understanding, trust, and emotional closeness very quickly. They make you feel seen, valued, and connected in a way that seems rare.

Then the dynamic changes.

The attention fades, the expectations grow, and you find yourself working harder, giving more, and constantly chasing the version of them you met at the beginning.

What you’re missing isn’t necessarily the person.

You’re missing the feeling they created.

Healing begins when you stop romanticizing the manipulation and start reconnecting with your own truth, boundaries, and identity.

The goal isn’t getting them back.

The goal is getting yourself back.

05/29/2026

The most dangerous manipulation doesn’t start with lies. It starts with making you feel responsible for fixing someone else’s life.

Manipulators often look for people who are caring, empathetic, and willing to sacrifice their own needs.

You ignore the red flags.
You excuse the behavior.
You keep giving chances.

Meanwhile, they learn exactly what keeps you staying.

If someone constantly gaslights you, drains your energy, twists your reality, and makes you question your worth, that’s not love. That’s control.

Stop asking, “How can I help them?”
Start asking, “Why am I accepting this?”

Your kindness should be appreciated, not exploited.

Have you ever realized you were being manipulated only after it was too late? Share your experience in the comments. Your story might help someone else recognize the signs sooner.
