🚨 Consumer Protection Watch for Parents

Harmony Care Finder

Harmony Care Finder advertises nationwide ABA matching services and promotes itself as a free concierge service that helps families choose ABA providers. The company states that it "personally matches" families with "trusted," "verified," and "Harmony Approved" ABA providers.

Parents should ask one important question before relying on these representations:

What objective, independent standard is being used to determine that an ABA company is "trusted," "verified," or "Harmony Approved"?

There is no independent, universally accepted standard that objectively certifies an ABA company as providing ethical, high-quality care. Families, autistic adults, clinicians, and researchers hold widely differing views about ABA, and reasonable people disagree about what constitutes appropriate autism services.

Before relying on any referral or concierge service, ask for the answers in writing:

What specific criteria are used to evaluate providers?

Are providers paying to participate or receiving referrals through a commercial relationship?

Are there financial relationships or referral agreements with recommended providers?

How are complaints, investigations, disciplinary actions, or litigation considered?

Are autistic adults involved in developing the evaluation criteria?

What does "Harmony Approved" actually mean, and who decides?

A referral service may help organize information, but parents should perform their own independent due diligence before allowing someone else to narrow their choices.

Transparency is not optional when families are making life-changing decisions for their children. If a company claims it has "vetted" autism providers, ask to see the standards it used. If those standards cannot be clearly explained, parents should proceed with caution.

My policy activism is showing up in AI searches for autism laws !

See Doogri Institute mentioned in CA Assembly bill AB 1575 (Arambula)

"Arguments in Opposition. Doogri Institute writes in opposition (unless amended), “[This bill]
risks obscuring consumer data from program integrity reviews, by obscuring what legislators can
objectively analyze. California should not adopt changes that reduce visibility or diminish the
role of individuals in safeguarding system integrity. Consumers have the desire to be identified
and integrated into public policy. Our position is grounded in lived experience, and our consumer
status should remain protected under DDS, not regional centers. When consumers are excluded
from the data systems that define their care, their rights become invisible.”

I am an Autistic Savant who creates acrylic paintings that translate lived trauma by illustrating human experiences and expressions, Jewish memory, and disability into charged, fragmented figures and color‑saturated scenes. My work draws from modern, cubist, and abstract vocabularies to hold human experiences that are often silenced: gendered violence, migration, religious life, and the sensory worlds of autistic people. These paintings are used in law offices and clinical spaces as visual anchors for healing, testimony, and truth‑telling.

Keywords: (1) Holocaust, Memory, and Inheritance, (2) Gender, Law, and the Body, (3) Brooklyn, Migration, and Everyday Survival, (4) Autism, Music, and Communication, (5) Portraits, and Domestic Spaces

I work primarily in acrylic on canvas, often large‑scale, building layered compositions of faces, bodies, and objects that refuse to sit quietly in the frame. Each painting is born from a specific story — a court case, a clinic session, a childhood memory, a prayer — but the figures stand in for many people, not just one.

As an autistic savant, I lean into visual detail, color, and repetition to process experiences that resist linear language. Curators, lawyers, and clinicians have placed these works in Wall Street law offices, New York shelters, San Diego and Berkeley practices, and private homes as catalysts for conversation and repair.

Are you the "H. Kupferstein, Ph.D." mentioned in psychology papers?

👋 Yes, that's me.

I receive notifications like this almost every day now. When my first paper was published years ago, it took nearly three months before someone cited it for the first time.

Today, new citations arrive so frequently that it's become part of my daily routine.

For me, that's not just a personal milestone. It means autistic-led research is being read, discussed, challenged, built upon, and incorporated into the scientific literature.

The future of autism research has arrived, and autistic voices are helping shape it. I'm grateful to everyone who reads, cites, and continues the conversation. 🧠💙
