San Diego PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly) helps older adults receive the care and support they need to continue living independently in their homes and communities for as long as possible.

What a night. 💙🌴

The 2026 Legacy Ball presented by SBHIS Insurance Services brought together nearly 800 supporters, community leaders, partners, and friends to celebrate a shared commitment to improving community health and ensuring access for all.

Together, we honored our Founding Mothers, recognized President & CEO Kevin Mattson's impact, celebrated new investments in healthcare access, and raised support for programs that help our patients thrive.

From a $1 million commitment made by Blue Shield of California Promise Health Plan to help expand healthcare access in Southeastern San Diego to the Youth Philanthropy Council raising $20,000 for La Casita Fund, the evening showcased what is possible when a community comes together around a shared mission.

Today is officially Kevin Mattson Day in the City of San Diego!🎉

San Ysidro Health is honored to celebrate this special recognition led by San Diego City Councilmember Vivian Moreno (District 8) and Councilmember Henry Foster III (District 4), who presented President & CEO Kevin Mattson with a City Council proclamation recognizing his extraordinary 26 years of leadership and service and officially proclaiming September 1, 2026, as “Kevin Mattson Day” in the City of San Diego.

For more than two decades, Kevin’s leadership has helped guide the growth and evolution of San Ysidro Health, expanding access to care, strengthening community partnerships, and advancing our mission to improve the health and well-being of the communities we serve with access for all.

This recognition also celebrates the thousands of employees, providers, community partners, and supporters who have worked alongside Kevin throughout the years. Together, they have helped build a healthier and stronger San Diego and a legacy of service that will continue to impact generations to come.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to Councilmembers Moreno and Foster for championing this recognition, and to the entire San Diego City Council for unanimously honoring Kevin’s lasting contributions to community health and the communities we proudly serve.

Even though Open Enrollment has ended, you may still qualify for Covered California’s Special Enrollment Period if you’ve had a Qualifying Life Event, such as losing Medi‑Cal or other health coverage, moving, having a baby, getting married, or other major life changes. Most people have 60 days from the event to enroll.
