✨Every Class Leaves an Imprint

People sometimes ask me about my most meaningful teaching experience.

And the truth is, it’s hard to choose just one.

Every class shapes me, both personally and professionally.

Each time we gather, we create space for people to explore their experiences, connect with themselves, and simply be human.

In that space …

In that space, there are smiles.

There are tears.

There are stories shared.

There is laughter.

There is courage.

There is love.

I’ve witnessed students celebrate new beginnings, navigate difficult seasons, discover strength they didn’t know they had, and find moments of peace amidst life’s challenges.

As teachers, we may guide movement, breath, or meditation, but we are also invited into something much deeper …
the privilege of witnessing people as they are.

Those moments stay with us.

They remind us that yoga is about far more than poses.

It’s about connection … presence
And creating a space where people feel seen, supported, and welcomed exactly as they are.

Every class leaves an imprint.

What is bringing you to yoga now?

For some, it’s a desire to become more flexible.

For others, it’s stress, and wanting a moment to rest and breathe.

The beautiful thing about yoga is that there is no single reason to begin.

🍃You don’t need to be flexible.
🍃You don’t need special clothing.
🍃You don’t need experience.
🍃And .. You don’t need to know the names of poses.

You simply need a willingness to show up exactly as you are.

I began teaching yoga in 2008, though my practice started long before I ever stood on the mat at the front of a room.

Over the years, I’ve taught students from many walks of life…beginners stepping onto a mat for the first time, older adults navigating mobility challenges, individuals seeking stress relief, aspiring yoga teachers, and those exploring healing through movement, breath, and self-awareness.

In my early years, I believed teaching yoga was mostly about poses and sequencing. Come in, encourage people to do their best, teach the poses and leave.

Over time, that perspective shifted because I observed how people arrived carrying stress, grief, uncertainty, joy, hope, pain and resilience.

Rarely could people touch their toes. And not only did I acknowledge that… I understood it.

Like many people, I turned to yoga for a steady companion through life’s challenges and transitions.
My flexibility was not great either when I started. It took time, practice and patience.

Expecting to push through all the poses at the beginning may not be possible or safely recommended…

It takes courage to show up, take a breath, and begin.

If you’re looking for a place to slow down, while honoring your connected presence through body, breath, emotions, and nervous system awareness , you’re warmly welcomed at Yoga Soul Wellness Center.

There is no one right way to practice yoga.

Every body is different.
Every story is unique.
And every journey has a life of its own.

We’re not here to be uniformed.
We’re here to be human.

Take a pause, stretch, breathe, and reconnect with yourself during today’s Chair Yoga class at Yoga Soul Wellness Center.

This gentle movement class is designed to support mobility, body awareness, balance, and relaxation through primarily chair-based practices, with optional standing postures using the chair for support.

A friendly reminder that Chair Yoga is a wellness and movement class. While many people find yoga supportive alongside their overall health and wellness routines, this class is not intended to replace individualized medical care, physical therapy, or treatment recommendations from your healthcare provider.

Everyone is encouraged to move at their own pace, listen to their body, and participate in the ways that feel most comfortable and supportive.
