20 years ago I discovered Jin Shin Jyutsu.
I was given the label PCOS and told nothing could be done, aside from balancing hormones. I was not satisfied with that answer and I jumped into research.
I came across a modality that sounded amazing. Except there were no practitioners where I lived. Somehow that led me to Jin Shin Jyutsu, which actually had nothing to do with that modality, the name I don’t recall.
So I excitedly booked a session.
And I was like, wow, what is this?!
I then attended her Self Help workshops.
The practitioner suggested that I take the training which is a five-day course. And I did.
The class was huge and I sat in the back row, with my black Moleskin. Over the years one notebook grew into many, as I took more than the three 5-day courses required to become a Practitioner.
Funny what really “sold” me wasn’t my own testimonial. Ironic since Mary Burmeister who brought Jin Shin from Japan back to the US when she returned home always said “Be our own testimonial.”
My dog was my “practice dummy”. A rescue dog who travelled long distances with me literally relaxed into her body. It was visible, it was palpable. It was emotional. No placebo. No mind trick, just the body responding.
Dogs, and their owners, became my first clients.
2006 the year I discovered Jin Shin Jyutsu.
It’s as easy as holding a thumb and fingers. This allows the energy to be unblocked and return to their natural pathways so the body can do its thing. Our intelligent and amazing body.
This beautiful modality, a personal practice still today. 20 years on.
Over the years I have taught and led many Jin Shin workshops. Teaching it is fun and helps spread this to more people so they can help themselves and their family.
