What is Aortic Dissection? It's a tear in the wall of the body's main artery and can happen suddenly even in someone who appears healthy. Deaths from this CAN be prevented with early detection and treatment. If the person goes into cardiac arrest, performing CPR can keep that person alive long enough to get them to the operating room for an aortic repair.

*If you have sudden, severe pain, particularly in your
chest or back, get medical help right away. Severe pain is the #1 symptom of an acute aortic dissection.
