The love we share with our pets doesn’t disappear when they’re gone 🐾💔

Our Pet Loss Support Group is a safe space to grieve and connect with others who understand the deep bond we share with our animals.

This group is open to anyone experiencing pet loss — whether through the death of a beloved companion, a missing pet, or the loss of a relationship with a pet due to divorce, separation, rehoming, or other life changes.

We're excited to share that El Hyder Kim, LCSW, C-DBT has been nominated for Member-at-Large of the Human-Animal Interaction (HAI) Section of APA Division 17!

El has been passionate about the human-animal bond for years and has practiced animal-assisted therapy since 2020. Their work is driven by a commitment to strengthening the connection between clinical practice and science and expanding our understanding of how animals support mental health—including their special interest in rabbit-assisted interventions.

🎉 Congratulations to Kaitlyn Weber, LSW! 🎉

We're incredibly proud to celebrate Kait, who was honored with the Health & Wellness Rising Star Award at the TriCounty Area Chamber of Commerce's Summer Sips & Rising Star Mixer on July 9.

The Chamber recognized Kait for her dedication to expanding access to quality mental health care, sharing:

"Kait is a Licensed Social Worker and community leader in mental health. She mentors interns, launched the Unleashed Farm, and partners with the LGBT Center to expand access to care. Her creativity, empathy, and leadership make a tangible difference in the mental health and wellness of the community."

One of the reasons we love incorporating animals into therapy is because they naturally model calm, connection, and trust. Watching Beck and Adler settle in together is a gentle reminder that our bodies are always looking for places and people that help us feel secure.

Today's pasture walk was a blast!

We wandered through our riparian buffer, enjoying the bird song, trees, and plants. Noxie gave some cow kisses and we had a chance to pick cornflowers and zinnias in my garden.

Thanks, Unleashed Counseling, for creating such a restful space.

And thanks to everyone who came out!

Next pasture walk will be an evening one with smores and a bonfire. Can't wait to see ya'll then.

🖖 Pet Employee of the Month... Acting Employee of the Month, to be precise.

Congratulations to Bennett, who has earned this month's completely unofficial (but highly prestigious) title after making huge strides in one of the hardest service dog skills: greeting people politely.

Instead of rushing to say hello, Bennett has been practicing staying calm, making thoughtful choices, and remembering that not every new person is there to pet her (even if they really, really want to).

Learning to ignore distractions and greet people with good manners takes countless repetitions, patience, and teamwork. We're so proud of how far she's come.

Please join us in congratulating Acting Ensign Bennett on her promotion. She's boldly going where many puppies have gone before... but with noticeably better impulse control 🐾✨
