Yes, we now have a waitlist! You can still book a new patient appointment online, but it may be a little far out. Why don’t I change my schedule to accommodate more patients? Because I made these promises when I started my practice in January 2026:
1. I would give patients the type of personalized care I wish I had
2. I would allot plenty of time for patients to explain their complex medical concerns to me and for me to collaborate with them in their care
3. I would not get so busy that my patients feel rushed or blown off
4. This is the hardest one - I would care for myself (as a fellow Zebra 🦓 ) just as well as I care for my patients

So I do apologize if you have to wait for an appointment to see me, but I hope you will find it to be worth the wait. 📆

So many of my patients have digestive and gastrointestinal intestinal complaints. More often than not, they have been to their P*P and then a GI specialist, but are still suffering. Many of them need something beyond what my traditional medical school education at Cornell and residency at UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson taught me years ago. That’s why I’m dedicated to continued learning. I love learning about ROOT CAUSE medicine through the Institute for Functional Medicine. I’m always humble enough to realize I have more to learn!

As a doctor, I was trained to put my own needs last. But since realizing I have hEDS, POTS, MCAS, and autoimmune disease, I have been intentionally trying to listen to my body. I thought I was doing a good job, but my new watch is telling me otherwise. I had no idea my heart rate was still jumping to the 100s just walking down the hall. Time to pause work and drink more water and salt! What are you doing to monitor your health?

If you have Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), do you know your subtype? It’s important for your doctor not only to be able to diagnose you with POTS but also to identify whether it’s neurogenic, hyperadrenergic, and/ or hypovolemic. While most people have one subtype that’s dominant and should be the primary target for treatment, many have a mixed presentation.

Take home message: 2 people can have POTS and require different treatments. It’s definitely not a one-solution-fits-all diagnosis. So, to my fellow POTsies out there, make sure you have a doctor who is willing to take the time to listen, investigate your symptoms, and do a thorough evaluation.

I am so grateful that today I got to meet and work with Mike Plude, PT, DPT, CSCS ! He is a fantastic and knowledgeable physical therapist who will come to your home (San Fernando Valley and surrounding area) and he also offers virtual appointments. We had the best time not only working on me but geeking out together about our knowledge of hypermobility and body movement! I kept having to interrupt the session to say “let me right down that name or that book.” Thanks, Mike!

It means so much to me when patients tell me they feel seen, heard, believed. Sometimes I have to help my patients advocate to the rest of their medical team, who (sadly) don’t believe in their lived experience. It should not have to be that way, but I’m happy to do it and help raise awareness about these REAL and IMPACTFUL medical conditions.
