One of the hardest parts of living with trauma is how isolating it can be.
The nervous system, primed for threat, often pulls us inward, away from connection, away from rest, away from the people who would help if we could let them. This is not personality. It is physiology, doing what it learned to do to keep us safe.
June is PTSD Awareness Month.
This month, we are thinking about everyone living with the aftermath.
We are thinking about those doing the work to come back to themselves.
