Soroka Medical Center played an important role in the international Phase 3 clinical trial that helped lead to the U.S. FDA approval of the first oral PCSK9 inhibitor for lowering LDL (“bad”) cholesterol.
Led in Israel by Prof. Yaakov Henkin, the study demonstrated the therapy’s ability to significantly reduce LDL cholesterol while offering a convenient oral alternative to injectable treatments.
At American Friends of Soroka Medical Center, we are proud to support groundbreaking clinical research that helps bring innovative treatments from the laboratory to patients around the world.
