Sometimes we don't recognize how much we're carrying because there was never a moment when everything suddenly became heavy.
It accumulated.
One responsibility.
One expectation.
One disappointment.
One "I'll deal with that later."
One more thing we decided we could handle.
And we did handle it.
That's the interesting part.
We become so capable of carrying our lives that we can forget to ask whether everything we're carrying still belongs there.
The body tightens.
The mind keeps spinning.
Patience gets shorter.
Joy becomes something we hope to have time for later.
And eventually we call it normal.
But familiar and natural aren't always the same thing.
What if some of the heaviness you've adapted to isn't asking you to become better at carrying it?
What if it's asking to be understood?
🌿 A Deeper Pause — Empty Your Pockets
Imagine everything you're carrying emotionally could be placed on the table in front of you.
Expectations.
Responsibilities.
Old stories.
Other people's opinions.
Things you haven't forgiven yourself for.
Things you're trying to control.
Now ask of each one:
"Is this mine?"
"Is this still true?"
"Does this still deserve my energy?"
You don't have to release anything today.
Start by seeing what's there.
And if you're realizing you've been carrying more than you knew, I invite you to a free discovery call with me. https://marianneknox.com/book-discovery-call/
Together, we can begin looking beneath the heaviness—not simply for ways to cope with more, but to understand how you've been processing life and explore a more natural pathway toward ease, clarity, and peace.
Maybe you don't need stronger shoulders.
Maybe you need a lighter load.
