My Lactation story
The passion I have to become a IBCLC Lactation Consultant, started with my personal experience with my baby girl Samantha and the support that I recieved. On the day she was born, it appeared she knew how to breastfeed naturally when placed in my arms and skin to skin contact on my chest. Though I her mother felt awkward being a first time mother. I want to thank the nurse that cared for me first day post delivery who also encouarged me to attend a la leche league for more support from other mothers and a lactation consultant. Finding the balance of learning more about breastfeeding and for me troubleshooting how to manage breast engorgment . I am thankful for my husband Dennis my mama Ita and sister Judy who were able to come alongside to support me to continue to breastfeed my baby girl for about 1 year. My passion has continued and with much gratitude I am able to come alongside and care for Mamas & babies as a IBCLC lactation consultant in their breastfeeding journey.
