June is Men's Mental Health Month, and we're holding space for a conversation that is long overdue. 🤎
Too often, Black men are expected to carry the weight of families, communities, and systems without being given the space to process, feel, or receive care themselves.
The data tells a powerful story:
📊 Nearly 1 in 5 Black adults experiences a mental health condition each year.
📊 Black adults are less likely to receive mental health treatment than their white counterparts.
📊 Black men are significantly more likely to die by su***de than Black women, while cultural expectations around "manning up" continue to discourage many from seeking support.
At BLKBRY, we believe community wellness includes our fathers, brothers, sons, partners, friends, and caregivers.
Creating healthier families means creating space for Black men to:
🤎 Ask for help
🤎 Express their emotions
🤎 Prioritize their mental well-being
🤎 Receive care without shame
Because healing isn't the opposite of strength.
It's part of it.
This Men's Mental Health Month, check in on the Black men in your life—and if you're a Black man reading this, check in with yourself, too. 🌿
