Spring has sprung here in North Carolina! Scroll for all the gloriousness.

As we enter March and head toward the spring equinox, the first day of the new zodiac year, I can't help but have rebirth on my mind.

I feel the quiet stirrings inside, little sparks like seeds under the soil. Inklings as to who I want to be in the coming year. And what may be birthed through me. None of it fully conscious just yet, more like nudges or winks, hints or clues.

I feel the flutterings, the stirrings, the growing excitement inside as life returns. Here's to more of that and to grace in the dormancy still around as we yawn and move through these last few weeks of winter hibernation.

My desk arrived!!!

For those of you following along and/or who just know about my workspace setup saga, here is the next iteration!

I ordered a desk from last week and set it up with my dad’s help yesterday (thanks pops)!

It’s a sit/stand desk which feels so legit and fancy. Part of me definitely feels insecure about announcing this part. Like who am I to own such an item?!?! I’m not that legit in my work or business, but here we are and I’m so glad I have myself permission to buy the thing I really wanted.

It’s already feeling better for my body and I’m feeling more grounded in my work.

Next up is swapping out my dad’s books for my own (consciousness, personal growth, and crystals > American history and poetry, lol), rearranging the rug, changing the painting, and buying an actual chair to go along with said desk.

Yay for fun, new adventures!

This was my daily reading for today. This week has had a lot of ups and downs for me and something in these words feels like a balm I’ve been needing.

The weight of pain in the world has really been sitting heavy in my heart. As well as a depth of anger and pain and rage and fiery hatred at all the things I view as wrong in the world and want to change.

I started my bleed in the middle of the night two days ago and found myself rolling around on my rug on the floor, writhing in pain, in a very liminal, between worlds and consciousnesses kind of place.

From the depths of my cramps that seemed to viscerally embody all the deep emotional pain I’ve been tapped into, this small, quiet voice said “you know, you can put your sword down”

🤯🤯🤯

Cue the tears. And lots of questions from the mind of “how in the world do I do that?” And “doesn’t that make me a bad person if I stop fighting the things I think are wrong?” Plus a dose of an identity crisis… “who in the world would I be without this sword and anger and righteous hatred?!?!”

I’m not really sure where all of this leads, or even where I’m going in this post, but I know this reading has medicine for me. Maybe it really is as simple as just loving the world into healing. Continuing to show up in my own inadequate fashion until God fires me…

No better way to end an evening.

Good night world. Thank you for the blessings of today and here’s to the blessings of tomorrow.

Guys, I bought a new desk today! I’m so excited you don’t even know (swipe to see my excited face 😉).

Fun fact, since I moved back home with my parents in June, I’ve been working remotely from the living room couch. Yes, I said couch.

At first it wasn’t a big deal, but starting in December my body began to protest. Tail bone and back pain and a general sense of lack of grounding got together to say we need a new solution.

So after getting rid of a couch that was older than me, one trip to IKEA, hours scouring google, and one semi-craft project to feel out dimensions, I’ve ordered a new desk and can’t wait for it to arrive (along with more stability in my work setup and less pain in my body!) Woo!

Now for fun paper to become a cat toy…

My current attempt to journal…I am cat. I must be center of attention.

The difference between knowing how something works and if something works.

You don’t have to understand all the ins and outs of how or why something works in your life. If you know that it does, the rest doesn’t matter.

Don’t let your mind trick you into thinking you have to know how and why before you implement something into your life. If you know something works for you, go for it. How and why it works be damned!

The challenge and importance of being more reactive.

I love you and it’s good to be back ❤️
