Congratulations, Dr. Norell, for winning CHPW's 2026 Power of Community Health Professionals Award! 🦷

This award is for Dr. Norells amazing work developing the Dental Outreach program at Astria Health. The Dental Outreach program brings visual oral exams and hygiene education for children in rural areas of Yakima County. This valuable service is available at no cost to families and helps promote healthy oral hygiene.

Dr. Norell received this award as part of Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI)'s annual Migrant Education Program (MEP) State Conference. His work has been instrumental in improving oral health for migratory youth in Yakima County.

Thank you, Dr. Norell! 🪥

Last week, we joined Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) for their annual Migrant Education Program (MEP) State Conference.

To learn more about the MEP program, we talked with Armando Isais-Garcia, Associate Director for Migrant Health, who taught us about the program's impact for students across Washington.

National Health Center Week may be coming to an end, but the Community Health Center (CHC) mission continues year-round.

Now more than ever, CHCs are essential in providing high quality, whole person care to our most vulnerable community members. Those who are unable to get care otherwise find support through the CHC safety net. Thank you to our amazing CHCs for all that you do.

The National Health Center Week celebrations continue! Today we partnered with Seattle Roots Community Health to put together a community baby shower!

It’s been a great day connecting with our community, celebrating expanding families, and promoting healthy pregnancies.

Events like this are one of the many ways that CHCs provide a health safety net for the community. CHCs have hundreds of clinics across the state that can be a great place to start if you need support accessing medical care.

As we celebrate National Health Center Week, we're especially grateful for our Community Health Center partners in Spokane who continue to show up for their patients and communities during a difficult time.

We also recognize that some health center staff, like members of our own CHPW team, may be facing displacement or uncertainty themselves. Thank you, NEW Health Programs Association, CHAS Health, and Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic for your compassion and dedication to the communities you serve. We are proud to count you as a friend and a partner.
