💖 Monarch Monthly Moment – Ruth Rowe 💖

At Monarch Hospice, we believe every life deserves to be celebrated.

We had the joy of honoring Ruth Rowe of Westchester Village in Lenexa, KS with a special outing to a local nail salon where she enjoyed a relaxing manicure and pedicure. Ruth chose her favorite color—pink—and was all smiles as she was pampered.

Thanks to Royal Care Transport, Ruth was able to safely travel to and from Quinie Nails, to enjoy this special experience. She was also joined by her three daughters—Patty, Nancy, and Suzie—making the day even more meaningful.

When her nails were finished, Ruth shared these heartfelt words:
“I had never thought I would ever be able to experience this.”

Moments like these remind us that joy, dignity, and love can be found in life’s simplest pleasures. We are so grateful to have shared this beautiful day with Ruth and her family, and we are honored to care for her💜

🎨 Monarch Monthly Moment 💜

This last month, we had the joy of celebrating Ann Findlay, a resident at Tallgrass Creek, OPKS, and an avid art lover, with a special outing to the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City.

Joined by her daughter, Beth, and her Monarch Hospice care team, Ann spent the afternoon exploring beautiful artwork, sharing stories, and enjoying quality time together. It was a day filled with smiles and memories that will be treasured.

A heartfelt thank you to Royal Care Transport for providing transportation and helping make this special experience possible.

We are truly honored to care for Ann, and we are continually reminded that she herself is as beautiful and timeless as any work of art or masterpiece we had the privilege of seeing that day. 💜

At Monarch Hospice, our Monarch Monthly Moment program is dedicated to honoring our patients by creating experiences that bring joy, connection, and lasting memories—because every moment matters.

Recently, we had the privilege of honoring the life and memory of one of our cherished Monarch Monthly Moment recipients, Gerry Miller, formerly of Aventura Senior Living, OPKS.

Although Gerry passed before we were able to fulfill her special Monarch Monthly Moment, we still wanted to celebrate her life in a meaningful and heartfelt way. To honor the beautiful bond she shared with her dear friend, we presented a sentimental keepsake statue of Gerry and her longtime friend, Catherine, to Barbara, Gerry’s primary caregiver and the daughter of her longtime friend.

Barbara was joined at Aventura Senior Living by our MSW, Kayla, and our RN, Calleigh, both of whom were honored to be part of Gerry’s hospice care team, as she received the gift. It was an emotional and touching moment filled with love, remembrance, and gratitude. Witnessing the deep friendship and cherished memories they shared was truly special.

At Monarch Hospice & Palliative Care, we believe every life deserves to be celebrated, honored, and remembered. We are deeply grateful to have walked alongside Gerry during part of her journey and to have cared for both her and those who loved her.

💜 Thank you, Gerry, for allowing us to be part of your story. Your memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved you.

💗Love truly is in bloom 💐
We were honored to be part of a beautiful vow renewal ceremony at Morningside Place Memory Care in Overland Park, KS, where eight couples reaffirmed their love and commitment to one another. Moments like these remind us that love endures—through every season of life.
As part of our Monarch Monthly Moment, we had the privilege of celebrating three of our patients and their spouses—Pete Loftus and his wife Rhonda, Frank Iams and his wife Janet, and Kay (Jimmie) Cummings and her husband Charlie—by creating hand sculptures to commemorate their lasting bonds. These keepsakes are a small reflection of the deep love and shared history each couple holds.
The day was filled with joy, emotion, and meaningful connection. Our team showed incredible heart and teamwork in helping make this event so special—not only for our patients, but for their families as well.
We are deeply grateful to walk alongside these couples and their loved ones, and to be part of moments that honor life, love, and legacy.

This month we had the honor of celebrating our February Monarch Moment winner, Verna Seek at The Madison Senior Living Center in Kansas City, Missouri. 💜

Our team was able to shower her with gifts, and host a special luncheon surrounded by her family, friends, and Monarch care team. One of our wonderful volunteers even pampered Verna with a relaxing manicure to make the day extra special. 💅

When Verna returned to her room, she shared that she loved everything about the day—but she was “tuckered out.” Mission accomplished. 😊

Verna truly enjoyed being honored, and we are so grateful for the opportunity to care for her, and help create a treasured moment for her and her loved ones.💐

In March, we at Monarch Hospice were honored to celebrate our January Monarch Monthly Moment winner, Virgie Riedl of The Village at Mission in Prairie Village, KS. Due to unforeseen circumstances, we had to postpone her special day—but it was truly worth the wait! 💚

Now 99 years young, Virgie has been an avid golfer for over half of her life. To make her celebration extra special, we treated her to a fun round of putt-putt golf at Craft Putt in Overland Park, Kansas—creating a moment that was both personal and memorable.

Virgie also received her well-deserved green jacket, surrounded by her loving family and dedicated Monarch care team. It is truly an honor to care for patients as wonderful as Virgie, and we are so grateful to be part of these meaningful moments while celebrating such incredible individuals.

Virgie, you are our hole in one! ⛳💚
