The annual Kentucky Derby fundraiser hosted by Chinook Horses was a resounding success, and I am thrilled to have been in attendance. The event featured a range of activities, including horseback riding for children, a photo booth with one of their horses, a piñata party, Kentucky Derby hat-making, live auctions, and silent auctions. I was pleased to donate a complimentary dog grooming session from Oberg's Dog Grooming, LLC and a free Myofascial Release treatment from Oberg's Equine MFR, LLC. berg's Equine MFR, LLC. With the benefit of this year's experience, I am confident that next year's event will be even more successful. I am already developing ideas for the baskets I plan to donate and am in touch with friends and family about potential donations that showcase their talents and businesses. Below are some event photographs. Oberg's Dog Grooming, LLC

What is Fascia??
Fascia isn’t just “wrapping”—it’s a living, responsive network that connects every part of the body.

This image gives a magnified glimpse of fascia surrounding and interweaving with muscle fibers. Notice how it looks web-like, almost sticky. When fascia is healthy, it’s hydrated, elastic, and allows smooth movement between layers. But when it becomes restricted—due to injury, inflammation, stress, or repetitive strain—it can bind, thicken, and lose its glide.

That’s when we start to feel:
• Tightness that stretching doesn’t fix
• Pulling or compression in distant areas
• Chronic pain patterns that don’t follow muscles alone

Fascia doesn’t operate in isolated parts—it transmits tension throughout the entire body. A restriction in one area can create symptoms somewhere completely different.

This is why gentle, sustained techniques like myofascial release can be so powerful. Instead of forcing change, we listen, soften, and allow the tissue to reorganize—restoring hydration, space, and movement.

When fascia changes, everything changes:
✨ Movement becomes easier
✨ Pain patterns begin to unwind
✨ The nervous system can finally settle

Your body isn’t stuck—it’s just waiting for the right kind of support.

Think of your body like a tent.

The skin is the outer fabric.
The bones are the poles.
And the fascia… is the system of guide wires that holds everything together.

In the image on the left, the guide wires are uneven, tangled, and pulling with different tensions. The tent collapses, twists, and loses its structure.
On the right, the guide wires are balanced and evenly distributed—the tent stands tall, stable, and supported with ease.

This is exactly how the human body works.

Fascia is a continuous web that surrounds and connects every muscle, bone, nerve, and organ. When there is restriction—whether from injury, inflammation, repetitive stress, or even early life strain—the “tension lines” in the body become uneven.

This creates compression, torque, and misalignment… just like the leaning tent.

Over time, this can show up as:
• Chronic pain
• Postural imbalances
• Limited mobility
• Nervous system dysregulation

Myofascial Release works with these “guide wires.”

Instead of forcing the poles (bones) into position, MFR gently releases and rebalances the fascial system—allowing the body to reorganize itself naturally from the inside out.

When the tension is more evenly distributed, the body doesn’t have to fight gravity anymore.

It finds support.
It finds alignment.
It finds ease.

You’re not just working on muscles…
You’re restoring the entire tension system that holds you together.
