He is the EMS Lieutenant for his community ambulance service and is also part of the Search and Rescue team having participated directly in missing persons calls, trail rescues, swift-water and rope rescues. He is a certified Wilderness EMT, Red Cross CPR/AED/ Wilderness First Aid instructor and member of the National Association for Search and Rescue and the Wilderness Medical Society. An avid ADV motorcycle rider, he has been to various countries and lots of miles in the US and Canada both on and off-road.
