I hope everyone got through this week's snowstorm okay. Now that the holidays are past I’ve noticed that I indulged a bit too much in the holiday treats. With all the cookies, cakes, and pies available it’s really hard to say no to all the goodies. Well, I didn’t say no and not only indulged but, overindulged. The result was twofold for me. One was a situation that is a bit of a sensitive subject. Which is hemorrhoidal pain and swelling when I venture into too many sweets. However with at being said I did use the cu-bee “stinger shrinker” and it helped as it always has for me. Knocked down most of the pain in about 10 minutes and most of the swelling in about an hour.
The other situation was the scale and as I’ve said in a previous post the scale isn’t always going to be your friend. Well, it definitely wasn’t mine when I stepped on it. It went up 10 pounds, ugh. Now is that discouraging? Yes, a bit but I know that it will go back down to where I want it in about a week or two by sticking to my normal way of eating and not the “holiday” way of eating.
I said all that to show that even though I know how my body reacts to this kind of thing, how easily it can happen. You’re at a holiday party and everyone else is eating all the goodies. You hear over and over that you have to try this it's so good. Now should you be eating all of that? The short answer is no, but it can easily happen. I just “had” to try allot of different things that I wouldn’t normally eat. And they all tasted really good as my scale showed me that after the fact. But, now that the holidays are behind us I’ll be back on my path once again and everything will be as it should in a few days.
So, If you are trying to progress on a weight loss journey and the holiday festivities have set you back a bit, don’t lose hope. This isn’t a time to go back to the old ways. It’s time to move forward. Winter is a great time to break out the crock pot and make some soups. You can throw some healthy and delicious meals together using one of those without a huge amount of effort. One my wife just put together was homemade chicken noodle soup. Which consisted of boiled shredded chicken, celery, and homemade noodles. It was absolutely delicious and healthy at the same time. There is nothing like a hot bowl of soup on a cold day.
Remember don’t give up! Just keep making the positive choices. Every step forward no matter how small is progress in the right direction. And if the holidays created the first situation for you. Our cu-bee "stinger shrinker" can be purchased at The Red Rocker in Shippensburg or by phone and shipped out to you. Have a great day and try to keep warm.
