Every month, me and the Krewe of Atlas step into the Hope House with one mission on our hearts — to serve, to love, and to remind people that they matter.
We cook and serve incredible, home‑cooked meals for 70–110 homeless and hurting individuals, people who are fighting battles most of the world never sees. Along with a hot meal, we hand out goodie bags filled with toiletries, snacks, drinks, blankets, and the small essentials that help them survive another day.
Every time we’re there, I’m reminded of something we don’t talk about enough: so many of us have been just one paycheck, one heartbreak, one illness, or one unexpected moment away from losing everything. Life can shift in an instant, and grace is something we all need more than we admit.
Hope House is more than a building — it’s a lifeline. It’s a place where people can get a warm meal, wash their clothes, cool off in the summer, warm up in the winter, grab toiletries, and connect with resources that help them find housing, jobs, and stability. It’s a place where dignity is restored and hope gets rebuilt piece by piece.
And through all of it, God is at the center. His hand is over every plate served, every smile exchanged, every story shared, every tear wiped away. Serving here brings a level of joy, compassion, and humility that changes us just as much as it helps them.
If you’ve ever wondered how to make a difference — start small.
A meal. A blanket. A kind word. A moment of dignity.
These things matter more than we realize.
