Grace matters.

When we soften toward ourselves, we often soften toward others too. Healing grows where grace has room to live.

The Japanese practice of kintsugi repairs broken pottery with gold, leaving the cracks visible.

Not to glorify the break, but to honor the repair.

Recovery is not about erasing the past. It is about allowing honesty, grace, and connection to mend what shame told us was ruined.

Faith is not sitting still and waiting for life to change.

Recovery teaches us that willingness matters. We take the next right step, do the work in front of us, and trust that God meets us there.

Fear has a way of convincing us to stay small, stay stuck, or turn back.

Recovery asks something different of us, not perfection, but willingness.
Courage is often just taking the next right step while afraid.

We cannot control people, outcomes, or many of the things life places in our path.

Recovery teaches us that acceptance is not approval and surrender is not defeat. We may not control what life brings, but we do have a choice in how we respond and who we become through it. We do not have to be ruled by fear, resentment, or pain. We can stay present, stay connected, and keep moving forward.

Joy is not something that has to be earned.

It is not reserved for perfect people or perfect seasons.

Sometimes healing looks like giving ourselves permission to receive the peace, gratitude, and goodness that have been waiting for us all along.

It's that time of year again at Haven.

As the weather gets warmer, our groups start making their way outside. Some of the best conversations happen sitting under a tree, feeling the breeze, and being surrounded by our Higher Power's creation.

Recovery doesn't just happen in a group room or counseling office. It happens when women have the chance to slow down, take a breath, and remember who they are beneath all the chaos that addiction created.

There is something special about this season at Haven. The pool is open, the gardens are growing, the chickens are wandering, and the goslings are swimming in the ponds. It's one of our favorite times of year!

It's a reminder that recovery isn't just about stopping something, it's about building something. A life that feels peaceful, meaningful, and worth showing up for.

One day at a time. One season at a time. One woman at a time.

Recovery asks us to come home to ourselves.

So much of healing is not about becoming someone different or pretending to be stronger than we are. It is about remembering who we are beneath the fear, shame, pain, and survival.

One honest step at a time, we begin again.

Some days the answer isn’t more control, more answers, or more certainty.
Sometimes it’s just connection. Love. Presence. Community.
The people who sit with us and remind us we’re not alone. 🤍
