Therapy should feel safe. But safe doesn’t always mean comfortable.

Sometimes therapy is validation. Sometimes it’s curiosity. Sometimes it’s gently challenging a pattern that no longer serves you. And sometimes it’s having the space to explore something you’ve been avoiding.

Your therapist doesn’t need to agree with everything you say. They don’t need to have all the answers. And therapy shouldn’t feel like someone simply smiling and nodding while you talk.

It should feel like a relationship where you can be honest, supported, challenged with compassion, and curious about yourself.

Curious about your patterns.
Curious about your body’s responses.
Curious about where those patterns came from.
Curious about what you need now.

Because when we understand the roots, we can begin to understand what’s happening above the surface.

That’s where meaningful change can begin.

One thing you’re not going to find at Curious Roots Wellness? A lack of community resources.

Because healing doesn’t happen in isolation. It takes connection, collaboration, and a community of people and organizations willing to show up for one another.

Our resource wall is one small way I hope to connect clients, families, and community members with the incredible providers, organizations, businesses, and local resources that are available right here in our community.

And this wall is always growing🪓

Are you a provider, nonprofit, organization, small business, or community resource with something you’d like to share? Send it my way! ([email protected]) I’d love to help get your information into the hands of the people who may need it.

At Curious Roots Wellness, we’re not just rooted in individual healing. We’re rooted in connection, collaboration, and community.

Let’s keep growing those roots, togetheršŸ«¶šŸ¼

Berks County, we want to hear from you!

What if we brought the mental health community together for a conference right here in Berks County?

We’re exploring the possibility, and before we build it, we want to know what YOU would want to see.

What topics should we talk about?
Who should be in the room?
What would make it worth attending?
How could you help make it happen?

We’ve already had 25+ people express interest, and now we’re taking the next step: gathering feedback from our community.

Whether you’re a mental health provider, educator, healthcare professional, organization, advocate, community member, or simply someone who cares about mental health, your voice matters.

Take a few minutes to complete the survey using the QR code, link in the flyer and/ or the link in the comment section. And please share, tag a colleague, or send this to someone who should have a voice in this conversation.

This is not a commitment to attend or participate. It’s an opportunity to help shape what this could become. The form will remain open through September 7, 2026.

Let’s build something meaningful for the mental health community in Berks County, together.

September is National Su***de Prevention Month

Su***de prevention starts with connection. It starts with checking in, listening without judgment, creating safe spaces to talk, and reminding people that they matter.

Sometimes, we may not know what someone is carrying beneath the surface. A simple ā€œHow are you really doing?ā€ can open the door to a conversation that someone desperately needs.

Let’s keep talking.
Let’s keep checking in.
Let’s keep creating spaces where people feel safe to speak, supported enough to stay, and reminded that they matter.

You don’t have to have the perfect words. Just be willing to start the conversation.

If you or someone you know is struggling or thinking about su***de, call or text 988 for the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline.

Grief deserves space. Especially when we’re still learning how to understand it.

Today, on National Grief Awareness Day, I’m thinking about how differently grief can show up and how important it is that we don’t expect everyone to grieve the same way.

For children, grief may not always look like sadness. It can look like big emotions, changes in behavior, questions, play, regression, or simply needing more connection and reassurance.

This is one of the reasons I chose to pursue specialized training in child and adolescent grief counseling. I believe children deserve a space where their grief can be expressed in ways that make sense for them, without pressure to ā€œmove onā€ or have the right words.

As a Certified Child & Adolescent Grief Counseling Specialist, supporting children and families through loss is an area of my work that I hold especially close.

šŸ¤Grief changes shape. Love remains.

If you or a child you love is navigating a loss, you don’t have to navigate it alone. Curious Roots Wellness is here to support you in healing from the roots upšŸ¤

You’ve heard me talk about it…now here’s the official look.

I’m continuing to expand the work of Curious Roots Wellness beyond the therapy room through Education + Consultation Services.

A big part of this work is rooted in one of my clinical areas of focus: ADHD and neurodivergence. ADHD education is about so much more than knowing the diagnostic criteria. It’s about understanding how ADHD can show up in regulation, executive functioning, emotions, relationships, school, work, motivation, and everyday life and learning how to support those differences in practical ways.

Through these services, I offer:
• ADHD & neurodivergence education
• Trauma-informed care
• Emotional regulation
• Somatic work
• Supporting big emotions
• Professional development
• Parent & caregiver education
• Consultation
• Customized trainings & workshops

My goal is simple: take complex mental health concepts and turn them into practical tools people can actually use.

Whether you’re a school, agency, organization, professional, or caregiver, I’d love to create something that fits your needs.

Rooted in connection. Grounded in practical tools.
