This page is dedicated to the first Cameron Condon Memorial Golf Tournament. It will be held June 24th 2016 at Whispering Creek in Sioux City, IA. In April 2015 our son Cameron was taken to St Lukes in Sioux City after becoming increasingly ill over the past 9 weeks. We asked for a CT to rule out reasons for the sickness. After a few hours we were told Cameron needed to be emergency transported to
Sanford Sioux Falls for severe hydrocephalus. That following day after an MRI and many doctors we were given news that Cameron had cancer. Never in a million years would we have thought our son would be diagnosed with rare brain tumors that had traveled into his spine along with a malignant tumor under his arm. It took another week to figure out the names and how to treat his tumors. Atypical Teratoid Rhabdoid Tumors which represent only 1 to 2 percent of childhood brain tumors. The cancer had spread and he also had MRT, Malignant Rhabdoid Tumors. There are only a few places in the world who are familiar with AT/RT and we were flown to Memphis, TN for treatment at St Jude. Tragically, after a whirlwind of hospital stays, surgeries, needle pokes, blood draws, transfusions and chemotherapy our Cameron passed away at home on June 16th 2015. In the spirit of Cameron, hope and a cure someday for all cancer it will serve to benefit others who are confronted with the challenges of childhood cancer.
