Booohahaha!!

I think drones are one of the most misunderstood honey bees in the hive 🐝

People joke about them… call them lazy… but drones do SO much more than most people realize.
Without drones there would be
🐝NO colony.
🐝No mating.
🐝No fertilized queen.
🐝No future worker bees.
🐝No hive.
The quality of drones matters too. A drone raised in a strong, healthy, resource-rich colony is not the same as a poorly raised drone. Nutrition, colony health, temperature, and overall hive conditions all play a role in drone quality.

I think sometimes we focus so much on the queen and worker bees that we forget just how important drones truly are to the future of the colony

Question regarding the Spring weather rollercoaster ride we’ve embarked on. 90 one day then heavy rain, freezing nights, and frost on our roof tops, I can’t help but wonder how that effects our ladies nutritional needs. If flowers are delayed is it recommended to supplement with pollen patties and/or nutrient fortified supplemental syrup?
