What an incredible race day! 🏅💙

The 3LPLACE Team came together to run, walk, roll, and cheer at the Flutie 5K, and we couldn't be prouder of our community! From crossing the finish line to celebrating together with big smiles (and even our favorite four-legged teammate 🐾), the energy and connection was unmatched.

🎉 FUNDRAISING UPDATE:
Thanks to the overwhelming kindness and generosity of our community, we didn’t just reach our finish line—we shattered it! We officially raised $43,700, blowing past our $40,000 goal! 🚀✨

Every single donation, cheer, and step directly fuels the programs and opportunities that help our members connect, grow, and thrive every day.

Preparation is everything! Our team has been practicing stretches and warm-up routines during our Movement Group to make sure everyone feels energized, confident, and ready to take on the 5K!

Race Day is almost here! 🏃‍♂️👟Here are the key details you need to know for the Flutie 5K on 10/25 with the 3LPLACE Team:

1️⃣ T-Shirt & Bib Pick-Up:
-If you register by 10/20, 3LPLACE will pick up your 5K T-shirt and bib for you!
-Pick-Up Options: Collect your items during program hours at 3LPLACE on 10/22 and 10/23, or grab them at our charity table on race day.

2️⃣ Parking Details:
-West St. Lots: Wheelchair-accessible, volunteer, and vendor parking.
-Natick High School Lots: Assigned participants.
-MathWorks Apple Hill Campus: Assigned participants (shuttles run every 10 minutes to/from the site).
-📌 Watch for specific parking assignments sent via email, text, and on the website. Arrive early!

3️⃣ Race Day Schedule:
-6:30 AM: Parking lots open
-6:45 AM: First shuttle departs MathWorks
-8:15 AM: Must be at parking lots by this time to guarantee making the start line
-8:45 AM: Bib pickup closes, track opens, and Kids' Fun Run begins on track

⚠️ Note: Only participants wearing bibs will be allowed past the start line. Non-participants, food, and drinks are not permitted on the track.

A Community That Keeps Us Safe & Strong! ❤️🚒

Recently, our 3LPlace members got to go on an amazing, hands-on outing to our local Somerville Fire Department (Engine 6) in Teele Square! We couldn’t be more grateful to the incredible firefighters who welcomed us with open arms, gave us a fantastic tour, showed us the legendary firehouse pole in action, and even let us try our hand at using the hose (which was a huge hit!). 💦🚒

A massive shout-out goes to our very own 3LPlace member who recommended this wonderful outing! Ideas like yours are what make our community adventures so special. 🙌🌟

A note to our neighbors: Not long after our visit, we were saddened to learn of a fire in a nearby building in our community. Seeing the bravery and readiness of our local firefighters firsthand made us even more appreciative of everything they do to keep us safe during emergencies.

💼✨ BIG ideas are in the works! Our members are teaming up for a brand-new Small Business Group at 3LPlace, and the energy in the room is incredible!

Over 8 weeks, this hands-on group is exploring the ins and outs of running a business from the ground up. Here are some of the fantastic real-world skills they will be practicing:

📝 Planning & Budgets

🎨 Hands-On Skills: Learning the art of tie-dyeing to create custom shirts!

🤝 Community Connection: Making and selling custom t-shirts and delicious chocolate bars in the community.

📈 The Math: Tracking sales and calculating earnings.

🍕 A HUGE shout-out to our fantastic friends at Angelina’s Pizza! We are so lucky to have such supportive neighbors who are letting us sell our products at their shop. Community support like this makes all the difference!

We are so proud of the teamwork, determination, and creative hustle our members are putting into this project.
