A Different Kind of Valentine: Reclaiming Love as an Inner Practice. ❤️

February often draws attention to love, closeness, and being valued. For some, this brings joy and connection. For others, it can quietly highlight longing, grief, or self-doubt. Sometimes, it can be both. Self-compassion offers a way to meet these experiences with care rather than judgment.Instead....

A gentle Valentine’s reminder:
Self-compassion is built in small moments, not grand gestures.

Pause. Breathe. Be kind to yourself today.

💕

A VALENTINE’S
recipe for Self-Compassion

INGREDIENTS
• 1 moment of pause
• 2 slow breaths that soften your shoulders
• A generous scoop of kindness toward where you are today
• A pinch of honesty about what feels hard
• One small act of care (water, rest, warmth, or fresh air)
• Optional: a reminder that you’re allowed to be human

DIRECTIONS

Begin by stopping, even briefly. Let your body arrive where you are.

Inhale gently, exhale longer than you breathe in. Do this twice.

Notice what you’re carrying without trying to fix it.

Offer yourself the same tone you’d use with someone you love.

Do something simple that nurtures your body.

Repeat as often as needed, especially on the days it feels hardest.

As the new year begins, remember that you are the same incredible person you were yesterday. 2026 offers more days to treat yourself with kindness.

Whether you are resting deeply or simply staying present in the quiet, take a deep grounding breath. You made it through.

There's no need to reinvent yourself; the resilient version of you that persevered is deserving of love. Focus on embracing kindness towards yourself, as you are already enough. ✨

Sometimes, the holidays don’t feel bright. They bring up absence, change, strained relationships, or losses that don’t pause just because it’s December.

The holidays can amplify grief, reminding us of the ones we miss and the changes we've faced. For those experiencing a 'blue Christmas', please know that it’s okay to feel this way.

If the holidays feel heavy, you’re not alone.

For many people, December does not feel bright or celebratory. It feels heavy. It can carry the weight of who is missing, what has changed, or what never quite healed. When grief is present, the holidays can amplify it rather than distract from it.A “blue Christmas” is a natural response to loss...
