THANK YOU to clients who've checked in on me this week. 🔥 Although I had to evacuate with my dog on Saturday, I was able to return to a home that's still standing on Sunday. Still not in the clear though, as the weather's expected to get high-risk again soon and I'm pouring most of my energy into organizing my go bags and emergency prep.
💞
I'm not feeling grounded enough to offer readings at the moment, so please excuse my pause. I encourage those who want to help people displaced by the recent Spokane fires not to forget about the fires that have been raging on nearby Colville lands for weeks. The Yakama Nation Reservation and White Swan area, too, have been hurting from recent wildfires. I'll include a link for those fires in the comments.

Hope you and yours are safe & supported.

HAPPY SOLSTICE, Northern Hemisphere! 🌞

Welcoming the Longest Day 🌞

Today marks the Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year. For centuries, people have gathered at Stonehenge to celebrate this seasonal turning point, continuing traditions that stretch back thousands of years.

In this 1961 aquatint, Stonehenge, Julian Trevelyan captures the monument silhouetted against a glowing midsummer sun. To create the print, Trevelyan used shaped printing plates cut to the forms of the sun and stones, leaving their distinctive outlines impressed into the paper. The bright orange sun was made using sugar lift aquatint, a printmaking technique that allows artists to paint directly onto a plate before etching, creating expressive, painterly areas of tone.
