The Interagency Autism Coordinating Committee (IACC) has extended the public comment period on its draft Strategic Plan. Thank you to everyone who acted, swiftly and with measure. Your voices moved a federal committee in a matter of hours.

Seven leading autism organizations join together to call for extending the public comment period on the draft IACC Strategic Plan from 4 days to 90 days.

The IACC Strategic Plan helps shape the nation's priorities for autism research, services, and policy. A four-day public comment period is simply not enough time for autistic people, families, researchers, clinicians, service providers, and other stakeholders to thoughtfully review a complex, 300+ page document and provide meaningful feedback.

A 90-day comment period would promote broad public participation and help ensure the final Strategic Plan reflects the needs and priorities of the autism community.
