Glioblastoma is the most common and aggressive form of brain cancer, and this DDFRCS alum is seeking to change the outcomes.

Congratulations to Dr. Chheda for earning this impressive award! We look forward to following the progression of his novel therapeutic approach.

Milan G. Chheda, MD, Associate Professor of Medicine, Division of Oncology at WashU Medicine and brain tumor specialist at Siteman Cancer Center — has been awarded a nearly $1.5 million grant from the Robert J. Kleberg, Jr. and Helen C. Kleberg Foundation to advance brain cancer research.

The three-year award will significantly advance a unique viral-based immunotherapy for glioblastoma, a lethal brain cancer that typically results in death within two years.

This recent comparative study has the potential to change antibiotic prescribing patterns!

We're incredibly proud of these KL2 alumni, who are investigating the safety and effectiveness of commonly prescribed antibiotics. Keep up the great work, Drs. Butler and Durkin!

Acute sinusitis is the leading cause for adults in the U.S. to be prescribed antibiotics, yet there has been no clear consensus on which antibiotic should be used for uncomplicated cases.

Anne Mobley Butler, PhD, MS, and Michael Durkin, MD, MPH, co-authored a large national study that may change how doctors treat uncomplicated acute sinus infections among adults.

Published in JAMA and presented at , this work suggests a preferred choice for uncomplicated adult sinusitis and highlights the power of using large data to guide everyday prescribing.
