🎉 Happy 100th birthday, Marguerite! Holiday Willow Groveve] celebrated a remarkable milestone for Marguerite, whose life story spans continents and now a century.

Born in Panama, Marguerite went on to build a career as a purchasing agent for United Aircraft, where she led a team of 30 people. Her advice for leaders is simple: “Listen to people.”

Today, Marguerite spends her evenings enjoying dinner, activities, bingo and plenty of time with her neighbors. When asked what she’s most proud of, her answer is just as simple: “My children.”

"I want to live here forever," says Arlene, a self-proclaimed newbie to Holiday Simi Hills.
"It's so friendly here. In the elevator, someone will say, 'oh, are you new?' – and introduce themselves and start talking." Arlene is living at Holiday Simi Hills to be closer to her daughter and to help out with her granddaughter. The plan was to live in the community for a year and then head back to her house on the coast. But things might change, according to Arlene.

"I hope the man who's renting my place for a year wants to stay longer, or even buy it. This is like being on a cruise. You go to your cabin, you eat in the dining room and you have activities – the only thing you're missing is the water."

Grandparents' Day was stuffed with love! 🧸

Leading up to the celebration, grandchildren dropped off their favorite “stuffies” to stay with residents for the week. The stuffed friends joined in on fitness classes, book clubs and even community outings – and we captured it all in photos to share with their grandchildren.

On Grandparents' Day itself, families reunited for a bingo bash, picked up their stuffies and keepsake photo booklets, and enjoyed a chicken nugget and popsicle bar together.

It was a celebration of the love, laughter and the impact grandparents have on their families.

We raised our pom-poms and cheered loudly at our Great Tailgate Social Series event! 📣

Communities brought the ultimate game day vibes as residents gathered to enjoy tailgate classics, including walking nachos and dirty soda bars.

The energy was high, the snacks were top-notch and the company was unbeatable. This event was definitely a touchdown for team spirit and community connection! 🏈🎉

“I don’t give up," shares Nancy, who has taken the step challenge at Holiday Maple Suites very seriously.

Nancy beat the record, walking every day for 125 days, helping the community hit ten million steps since March! Her motivation to keep going was more than just her competitive spirit. "I look forward to every step, and every little step helps me."

After recovering from an illness, she knew she had to be dedicated to reach her goal. "These steps are helping, and I am not quitting. I'm getting my daily movement in and enjoying it!

Great work, Nancy; keep it up!

"I like people," shares Vonnie, a resident at Holiday Bridge Park, who has always had a gift for bringing people together.

From working at the 1962 Seattle World’s Fair to spending more than three decades in the restaurant industry, Vonnie has always loved meeting people and making connections. Today she brings that same warmth and enthusiasm to community life – enjoying exercise classes, bingo, reading and getting to know her neighbors.

She especially loves the community’s library and the many opportunities to get out and explore together. “I’m not bashful about mixing in or talking to people,” she adds.

We’re grateful to have Vonnie’s energy, humor and love of people at Bridge Park! ❤️

For nearly 18 years, Janie has lived at Holiday Willow Grove – in fact, she was one of the very first residents to call it home.

Over the years, she’s joined picnics, bus rides, meetings and countless activities, watched team members grow into new roles and witnessed the community become part of so many chapters of life. One thing hasn’t changed: Janie still wouldn’t want to live anywhere else.

“I'm still comfortable here. I wouldn't move somewhere else, even if I could.”

Today, Janie especially treasures breakfast with her neighbors and the church services and Bible study that have been part of the community since the beginning.

After nearly two decades, her perspective says it best: “I can count on the people here.”

Surf’s up! We enjoyed fresh beachy bites at our Taste of SoCal events.

We enjoyed French onion dip served with Ruffles potato chips, followed by California Cobb salad served with a whole wheat roll and Dole Whip for dessert!

To top it off, we watched a modern Hollywood classic, La La Land!

We can't wait to see – and taste – the cuisine from our destination next month!

What a fun-filled day at our Summer Carnival! Our residents enjoyed cooling off with water fun, playing games, and indulging in all the carnival favorites—corn dogs, funnel cakes, cotton candy, and slushies!

We even got to throw a pie in the face of our General Manager, Jonathan!

Lots of laughs, plenty of smiles, and memories we’ll be talking about for a long time!

Our residents had a fintastic time celebrating the 50th anniversary of JAWS with a delicious Taste of Cape Cod event! From classic coastal favorites to plenty of smiles and laughter, it was a wonderful afternoon filled with great food, great company, and a little movie nostalgia.

The energy was absolutely electric as we hosted an unforgettable dance party featuring the amazing Blanca and Darren alongside our wonderful residents! Music filled the air, feet were moving, and smiles were everywhere — it was a celebration of joy, community, and pure fun!

A huge thank you to Blanca and Darren for bringing their incredible energy and passion to the floor, making this an event that everyone will be talking about for a long time. Here is to more dancing, more laughter, and more unforgettable memories together!

What an absolutely amazing time at the Strawberry Festival! Orchid Terrace had the pleasure of being part of this incredible event alongside the wonderful Blanca, and it was truly an unforgettable experience from start to finish.

From the vibrant atmosphere to the joyful energy all around, the Strawberry Festival brought together so many wonderful people and moments worth celebrating. Events like these remind us why community gatherings are so special and meaningful.

A huge thank you to everyone who made this event so remarkable, and of course, a special shoutout to Blanca for being such a fantastic part of the experience! We can't wait for the next opportunity to connect, celebrate, and create more beautiful memories together.

Celebrating the 4th of July the right way — spreading the joy across multiple spots and making every moment count!

The day kicked off with a wonderful picnic at the park, soaking in the festive atmosphere and enjoying the beauty of the outdoors. Nothing beats the feeling of fresh air, laughter, and quality time with the people who matter most.

And just when things couldn't get any better — root beer floats with Clare made the celebration even sweeter! Those creamy, fizzy, classic treats are the perfect way to wrap up a fun-filled Independence Day adventure.

Tom's trips are always an adventure, and this latest outing to Cracker Barrel was no exception! Whether the residents went to browse the charming country store or dig into some delicious comfort food, one thing is for sure — a great time was had by all!

At Orchid Terrace we believe that life is meant to be enjoyed to the fullest, and that includes fun outings that bring smiles and spark joy. There's something truly special about watching residents light up during these little adventures — the laughter, the camaraderie, and maybe a little friendly debate over shopping versus eating!
