😬 Got the ick?

Sometimes the ick is a helpful signal. Sometimes it's a snap judgment about someone who's simply excited to get to know you.

Before labeling something (or someone) as a 🚩🚩🚩... ask if they're just being human?

Because humans are analog. Labels are digital.

📢 Normalize conversations about s3x 📢

In this clip, Nancy Wright talks about how growing up Mormon and purity culture affected (and silenced) s3x education and conversations.

S3x education should not be taboo. That's why I Open Bedroom Doors. 🚪

You don't need a "perfect" body to feel confident and attractive.

So wear clothes that make you feel good, that highlight your favorite features, and that help you show up as your most authentic self.

A little self-compassion, self-expression, and a flattering outfit can go a long way. 💃✨

Your body isn't the problem. Let's stop treating it like one.

Three years ago, I quit drinking.

What I didn't realize at the time was that quitting alcohol wasn't the hard part.

The hard part was rebuilding everything alcohol had been helping me manage.

Alcohol wasn't just a drink. It was solving problems.

It helped me avoid difficult emotions.
It helped me quiet my nervous system.
It helped me escape stress.
It helped me tolerate uncertainty.
It helped me avoid loneliness.
It helped me avoid looking at things that needed to change.

When I got sober, all of those problems were still there.

So I had to learn new ways to live.

I had to learn how to sit with my feelings.
I had to learn how to manage ADHD.
I had to learn how to regulate my nervous system.
I had to learn how to communicate differently in my relationships.
I had to rebuild my business.
I had to redefine who I was as a mother, a wife, a therapist, a leader, and a human being.

People think sobriety is about not drinking.

For me, sobriety became about creating a life worth staying present for.

Early in my journey, I read the book Sober Curious, and one idea stuck with me. Instead of identifying as simply "sober," the author encouraged people to choose an identity that inspired them.

The one that resonated with me was:

Sober Rebel.

Because I didn't want to just stop drinking.

I wanted to challenge the idea that alcohol was required to enjoy life, connect with people, celebrate, relax, or cope.

I wanted to build a quality life while fully present in it.

Looking back now, I can see that sobriety touched every area of my Built to Last model:

🧠 Mind – I had to change how I thought.
💪 Body – I had to learn how to live in my body again.
❤️ Heart – I had to heal relationships and build trust.
🔥 Soul – I had to figure out who I really was without alcohol.
✨ Spirit – I had to create a life that felt meaningful enough to stay present for.

Three years later, I'm not just sober.

I'm different.

And honestly, that's the point.

Recovery isn't about returning to who you were before.

It's about becoming someone new.

🔎 Your body is giving you clues. But are you paying attention?

Arousal isn't always as simple as getting "turned on." Sometimes the role you take, the dynamic you enjoy, and how safe and connected you feel to your partner can all influence desire.

The more you understand your body, the easier it becomes to communicate your needs and create intimacy that actually works for you.

Curiosity is one of the best tools in adult s3x education. 💙

🎁 Let's unwrap the American s3x box.

Intimacy is often portrayed as one, two, three round the bases and slide into home base. But it's more fun to keep learning, laughing, and exploring together.

So think outside the box.

Stay curious.

That's how we open bedroom doors. 🚪❤️
