Design Challenge – Day 8 of 10

A heartfelt thank you to Wrens’ Whisper for nominating me to share one of my creations each day for ten days!!! 🤩🤩🤩

Today I'm showing off something I worked on; a part of my craft and something I truly take so much pride in!! As I understand that there are people against hunting, processing their own meats; there is something very honorable about it.

We thank those spirits that live in animals to provide us food. We honor their existence wherever and whenever we can. Lives of animals can be taken respectfully in order to feed ourselves.

Some look at bones and mounts in a negative light.
From my point of view this is not just a "trophy". It's homage to the spirits of animals that have provided a necessary meal. 💯💯💯

Clearly I didn't create the animal, but I did process and clean it with honor and respect. And I made the base of this beautiful deer that was hunted for food.
I connect with each animal with every bone I process.
This beautiful boy was no different. A GORGEOUS 10- point buck. In fact, I was able to process two very close together and am currently degreasing an 8-point buck.

I am Blessed and honored to take part in this process.
And I'll specify that I'll make sure that these are ethically and properly sourced before even work an any animal. 🫶🫶🫶

Design Challenge – Day 7 of 10

A HUGE thank you to Wrens’ Whisper for nominating me to share one of my creations each day for ten days. This is truly a blessing to be a part of this and the amazing small business community!!! 🥰🥰🥰.

Today I'm showcasing one of my all time favorite creations!!! One that I truly was, and still am sooooo proud of!!! This piece was sold a few years ago and I intend on creating another, eventually!!!

This is made from the bones of a deer... Multiple deer actually!!! "Toe bones"!!! I certainly have enough on hand that need to be processed so this can absolutely happen again!! These bones spoke to me and I could see the end result in my mind. After hours and hours of loving work; she came to fruition!! Seriously, my ALL-TIME favorite creation!!!

✨Today I'm sharing a piece that is, to me, a joyful piece of vertabrae swinging on a bone!! It's a cute reminder of the holiday I have always loved; Samhain (Halloween) as well as reinforcement of strength in ourselves (our backbone)!!

✨I reuse whatever I can and I let the energies of each bone call out to where it belongs on a piece like this!! And it brings me utter Joy and happiness when I finish a decorative piece like this!!! 🫶🫶🫶

✨I always use ethically sourced bones, usually ones that my Dermestid Beetles have cleaned. The majority of the carcasses I collect are roadkill and I do have a great rapport with the local Game Wardens as well as having a Special Hide Dealer's License that covers me having ownership of certain animal remains. 🫶🫶🫶

Design Challenge – Day 5 of 10

A HUGE Thank you to Wrens’ Whisper for nominating me to share one of my creations each day for ten days. This has been quite fun to go back and see some of the beautiful creations that I've made!!

Today I'm showing y'all my snake vertabrae earrings!!!
I have a colony of Dermestid Beetles and they prices carcasses for me so that I can show the animals' story to continue beyond the life of their body here in the physical world!!

These vertabrae are from our pet Freya. She was a ball python that was offered to us when she needed a home. We already had one Ball Python as well as a corn snake so taking on another that needed a loving home had a simple answer=YES!!! She was such a sweet girl and when she passed from unknown reasons, I was very sad... 🥺. But I knew that her legacy didn't stop when her body stopped working. I carefully collected all of her ribs, vertabrae and skull while thanking my Beetles for helping me preserve her in a way that still commanded strength, beauty and awe from anyone that saw these creations. May whomever purchases these earrings know that they are created with love and will provide strength, love and grounding in who n you are. 🫶🫶🫶💜💜💜✨✨✨💯💯💯
