Play is the primal language of the human brain.

To the untrained eye, it looks like "just playing." To the nervous system, it is the highest form of neurological reorganization and emotional processing.

The reason people undermine the word "Play" is that play is the opposite of a burden.

A burden requires heaviness, secrecy, and rigid rules.

Play requires lightness, expression, and the breaking of rules.

We in Play therapy are refusing to accept the heaviness as the only reality.
