Timothy J. Barron posted on the FB Group "Descendants of Massachusetts Founding Families" the following which may of considerable interest to Descendants of Edmund Rice:

"For those with an interest in Thomasine Frost (née Belgrave) (1562-1621), wife of Edward Frost (1561-1616), I have submitted a date of death change and burial location change to Find a Grave, which the memorial owner has accepted. Obviously, being a crowd sourced website, Find a Grave is not reliable, as it frequently lacks any source information, etc.

The prior data was unsourced or assumed, and had her buried in Stanstead, Suffolk, England. I requested it to be changed to Sudbury, Suffolk, England based on the following deductions associated with the following burial record.

It was reasonable to conclude that this was the same Thomasine Frost based on two key corresponding factors. First, she is listed as being the wife of Edward. The burial register is in Latin, and though Edward died before her, it should be noted that the surrounding pages do not use any Latin terminology for widow, widower, or relict for other burials. Second, this was the same church where the children of her daughter Alice were baptized between 1615 and 1630, so it was likely that the widowed Thomasine was living with the family of her daughter.

The "Suffolk, England, Church of England Baptisms, Marriages and Burials, 1538-1812" is a historical record collection from the Ancestry website, and contains the following indexed listing: "Name: Tomson Frost; Gender: Male; Record Type: Burial; Death Date: abt 1621; Burial Date: 15 Aug 1621; Burial Place: Sudbury All Saints, Suffolk, England; Father [sic]: Edward Frost; Description: Sudbury All Saints. Register of baptisms, marriages and burials." The following information was transcribed from the actual document, which was handwritten and in Latin, and obtained from the Ancestry website: "Anno Domini 1621. Tomasine uxor Edward Frost sepulta fuit 15 of August." The following is a loose translation in English: "1621 A.D. Thomasine wife of Edward Frost was buried on the 15th of August."

I maintain an open and objective mind to alternative and potentially conflicting evidence that may come to light, and revising any findings. 😎"

This account of the early founding of public schools in Framingham was posted on the Massachusetts Founding Families page on FB. It mentions Rice's End and its schoolmaster Thomas Drury (1690-1783). Thomas Drury was the son of Rachael Rice (1664-1730), the daughter of Edmund's son Henry who had been the first settler in Rice's End. A focus on education appears to be strong among the early generations of the Rices.

Alexander H. Rice Jr., a Harvard anthropologist with a specialization in Arctic cultures, gained notoriety in 1935 for convincing his Inuit guides to bury him in snow for 24 hours to study traditional survival techniques—resulting in severe frostbite that required partial amputation of his fingers. His groundbreaking work included cataloging over 300 Inuit words for different types of snow and ice formations, challenging Western linguistic frameworks. Rice pioneered aerial photography in anthropological research by using a modified World War I reconnaissance plane to map previously undocumented indigenous settlements across Labrador, becoming the first to document these communities from above.

The first colonial mail delivery occurred 352 years ago today, along this storied route.

Our first and second generation ancestors in 1673 would have been aware of this important event, although perhaps not immediately. As far we know, they had no business to transact in New York City (or New Amsterdam as it was known until 1664).
