Caught a quiet moment of reflection. Just me and the salt-and-pepper in my hair reminding me of the wisdom and grace that only time and faith can bring. Bowing my head in the stillness brought a profound realization about what we do when we seek God.
Prayer, for me, is not just a conversation. It’s a connection.
It is the opportunity to connect myself to God. Connecting my life to purpose. Connecting my vision to His provision, and my problems to the ultimate Problem Solver. It aligns my thoughts to God’s thoughts and my gratitude to His grace. It links my heart to the Ultimate Love, and my understanding to the One who understands me best.
Sometimes, the heavy circumstances of life create a disconnection. We experience a frayed cable of doubt, a spotty signal from stress, a weak link of weariness, or a broken outlet of grief.
But prayer is the saving grace. It is the miraculous power that plugs us back into the source, recharging the human soul directly with its Manufacturer.
In these uncertain times, you can be certain of one ultimate truth: God is in control and has the final say.
When was the last time you recharged your spirit? We connect to social media, the news, the notifications on our phones and other peoples opinions and perspectives. Don't worry, I'm okay! But this picture perfectly captures what happens when you try to carry too much.
My husband constantly reminds me that I overdo it - giving too much, doing too much, and quite literally carrying too much. When I dropped all this on the stairs, the message finally clicked.
I am the person who refuses to make two trips to the car. I will load up my arms, shoulders, and hands with bags until I can barely walk. I do the exact same thing when moving between floors in my house or rushing to back-to-back meetings. My calendar stays packed, and work usually swallows my meal times. Simply put: I carry too much.
I know I am not the only one.
There is a whole club of us who feel the burden of responsibility belongs squarely on our shoulders. We disguise it as perfectionism, control, or a strong work ethic to make it look like a positive trait. But if we look closer, it often stems from insecurity and a deep need to be needed.
Sometimes, you have to drop everything to realize you never needed to hold it all in the first place.

“Your words reflect your intentions, while your behavior reflects your actions. Do your words and actions align? Where there is misalignment, there lies an opportunity for growth.

What we feed will grow. What we nourish will sustain. But what we snack on - those fleeting, surface-level indulgences - disguises itself as growth while acting as poison, counterproductive to our mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual health.

Our subconscious mind often works counter to our conscious mind due to the brain's natural wiring. However, the brain is remarkably flexible. Through conscious effort, we can create new patterns of thought, which in turn lead to new patterns of behavior. Yet, caution is necessary. The brain’s plasticity can also form temporary patterns that mimic change, serving as safety mechanisms to shield us from immediate trauma. Without proper training and intention, the brain will eventually revert to its familiar state, seeking regulation through synaptic pruning.

To achieve lasting, sustainable change, the brain must undergo neurogenesis - a process that requires deliberate and consistent practice. Romans 12:2 reminds us to continuously renew our minds, resisting societal norms that so easily derail us. While the brain is capable of neuroplasticity, true transformation demands conscious, consistent, and intentional redirection.”

A Smile That Speaks Volumes

This smile? It came straight from my heart - a reflection of pure joy in a moment that meant so much to me. But let me be honest: while I carry an overall sense of joy, life isn’t always easy. There are days when my heart aches, when grief casts its shadow, and when heartbreak takes center stage.

Today is one of those days. My heart feels heavy, my grief is real, and my mind is swirling with questions. Yet, I choose to smile. Why? Because a smile is more than just an expression - it’s a superpower.

Smiling triggers a cascade of positive effects in the brain, releasing neuropeptides and neurotransmitters like dopamine, endorphins, and serotonin. These natural chemicals reduce stress, lower heart rate and blood pressure, ease pain, and even trick the brain into feeling happier - whether the smile is genuine or not. And here’s the magic: smiles are contagious. When someone sees your smile, their brain responds in the same way, even if they don’t smile back.

So, whatever you’re facing today, wherever you are in this season of life, I encourage you to smile. Not because it erases the pain, but because it reminds you - and those around you - that joy is still within reach. The more you smile, the better you’ll feel, and the more light you’ll bring to the world. And let’s face it, this world needs all the light we can give… Mindset Is Everything!!!

Today marks a significant milestone: the 5-year anniversary of KnotFree Living! What a journey it has been - filled with the highest of highs, the lowest of lows, and everything in between. Yet, here we are, still standing strong.

Being a business owner is not for the faint of heart. It has taken an abundance of prayer (mine and others), relentless hard work, countless sacrifices, and more sweat and tears than I can count to make it this far. But every step has been worth it.

To our incredible clients: THANK YOU! You’ve trusted us, recommended us, supported us, and allowed us to serve your needs. Your belief in us has been the foundation of our success.

To everyone who has worked with us: THANK YOU! There were challenges - some days were tough, some felt impossible - but through it all, we grew. Individually and collectively, we’ve learned, adapted, and thrived through both our triumphs and our trials.

To my friends and family: THANK YOU! Supporting new ideas, products, services, and even my most ambitious goals hasn’t always been easy or consistent, but your unwavering love and encouragement have meant the world to me.

The best is yet to come. With the expansion of KnotFree Living, including the launch of KNFL Learning Solutions and more exciting ventures on the horizon, I am filled with nothing but GRATITUDE for the path we’ve traveled and the miles still ahead.

Travel can be stressful but it can simultaneously be soooo rewarding.

Upon my return from Costa Rica, I have been reflecting on the richness of the experience. Let me be clear, I worked majority of the time, but the work i do is so rewarding, that it doesn’t feel like work (especially in Costa Rica).

First there was the absolute beauty of the water, land and resort. Then, there was the people (natives and the ones tha I met, networked and worked with. Last but not least was the food . I tried things that I never had before (which is very rare for me).

Although I came back exhausted, it was a good exhaustion. I leaned into the experience and learned so much about myself, my skills, my talents and my calling.

Did I mention that this event was “invite only” and that I paid for nothing? Everything was “First Class” and I do mean EVERYTHING! Top Tier event and I am soooo grateful for the opportunity to attend and pour my gifts into the treasures of others.

So, I received a message yesterday about a lie that someone told on me. Fortunately, there were flaws in their lie that made it obvious that it was a lie. But, I started thinking about “why?”. Why would someone tell a lie on me? What was gained by the lie? And what was I expected to lose by their lie?
It occurred to me that although I was the “subject” in their narrative, their narrative had nothing to do with me. (It’s always amazing to me how people talk about you, but don’t realize that the are really speaking volumes about themselves)

Here’s the moral of my sharing this… although the initial thought I had when confronted with the lie was to grab evidence, receipts and witnesses to defend my truth, I actually responded with the facts. I don’t have to defend myself or my truth because the facts speak for themselves. After stating the facts, I said what any good professiinal southern belle would say “Bless their Heart!”.

Don’t allow anyone the power to shift your energy! I was told not to let this incident ruin my day, to which I responded, what incident?

People will challenge your motives. People will challenge your patience. People will challenge your peace. Keep your motives pure, patience timely and peace attached. This one, was a loss for the enemy but I know it won’t be the last try.

My work is my calling! Bringing humanity into the workplace, home, and the world at large isn’t about seeking notoriety - it’s about fostering civility and respect. We are all on a journey of self-improvement. For some, that means earning more money; for others, it’s about building deeper connections. And for many, it’s about elevating the human experience to align with the spirit and essence of God.

I am called to learn, educate, share, impart, and support the best that humanity has to offer. This is what pleases God and benefits humanity. Ultimately, my focus remains on God. While humans can be fickle, unpredictable, and fleeting, God is steadfast, unwavering, and unparalleled.
I, therefore, seek the approval of God above all else. Human approval is nice but not essential.
Scripture reminds us to ask ourselves, "Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God? Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ." Galatians 1:10 (NIV)
