Let’s talk summer time! It can actually be incredibly beneficial to stick with or start therapy in the summer especially for our teen and child clients!

Why is that?

It can feel difficult to stick to therapy as the weather gets warmer, vacations come around, and less responsibility overall.

Summer allows for less responsibility academically and usually sports as well. This can allow your child or adolescent time to focus on improving mental health before the school year starts. Taking time to build a mental health toolbox is a great way to go into a new school year!

Therapy can be a powerful experience that can set you up for success. No matter what age, there is a goal in mind for all of us. Summer can allow time to pick goals for the upcoming months and discuss how to achieve them.

Contrary to popular belief, summer months and less structure can cause worsening mental health.

It can also be easier to get sessions in the summer as most therapists get a few open spots! If you or someone you know would like to start therapy please contact my therapy connection today! Link in bio â˜€ïžđŸŒŠ

As you’ve seen from Vince, this month is men’s mental health month! Now that we know what it is, why it’s needed, and stigmas surrounding it, how can we help?

How Can You Help?
Start a conversation: A simple conversation can spark transformation. Whether a father, brother, uncle, friend, or colleague, check in with the men in your life.

Share resources: Help normalize seeking help by sharing information about mental health support services, hotlines, and local organizations. Let others know support is available — and that it works.

Create safe spaces: Encourage environments — at home, work, school, barbershop, gym, church, or in the community — where men feel comfortable opening up without judgment. Sometimes, just knowing it’s OK to talk makes all the difference.

Feelings aren’t gendered, they’re human! If you or someone you know is experiencing difficulty identifying or feeling their emotions, or just needs someone to talk to please reach out to My Therapy Connection today! Link in bio đŸ’Ș

Many men are taught to push through challenges, bury difficult emotions, and handle problems themselves. But real strength comes from recognizing when you need support and taking steps to invest in your mental well-being. Our team member Vince tells a little bit about his story to help others.

Therapy, exercise, leaning on your support system, and simply making time for yourself, can have a huge impact on changing your life. Remember, you don’t have to have everything figured out, and you don’t have to face life’s challenges alone.

At My Therapy Connection, we’re committed to helping individuals find comfort, hope, and healing on their mental health journey.

Because wellness starts within.

June is Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month.

For too long, many men have been taught to stay silent, push through, and carry everything on their own. The reality is that asking for help is not weakness—it’s strength.

Whether you’re struggling with stress, anxiety, grief, burnout, or simply feeling overwhelmed, you don’t have to face it alone. Prioritizing your mental health is one of the most important investments you can make in yourself, your relationships, and your future.

This month, let’s continue breaking the stigma and encouraging honest conversations about mental health. Check in on the men in your life, and if you’re struggling, know that support is available.

At My Therapy Connection, our goal is to provide a space where individuals can find comfort during difficult seasons, hope for what’s ahead, and healing through the therapeutic process.
