Yesterday Papaw stopped by and brought us some treasures! Some of the prettiest bowls yet.
Honestly, I don’t know if I can part with them šŸ˜…
Once I finish conditioning them, I’ll share more photos, but for now enjoy these closeups of the grain!
Any guesses on the wood types?

Sometimes slowing down isn’t so bad.
There’s not much a hot bath, a little herbal comfort, and some essential oils can’t help… even if it’s just for a minute.
I think that’s one reason I love the old ways so much. We don’t always have to overcomplicate things. Simple remedies still work.

Fresh bagels in the bowl, kids playing in the creek, and research spread out across the table.
Trying to find joy in a slower season I didn’t choose, but somehow found myself in anyway.
Let’s just hope Dustin and the kids can keep up with my pretend bakery šŸ˜…

The sourdough bug has officially gotten ahold of us šŸ˜‚
I’ve spent the last week feeding my starter and somehow ended up with a whole sourdough village living on my counter. So today, we baked.
Sandwich loaves (the only thing I actually remembered to photograph), discard crackers, chocolate chip cookies, and pizza dough.
Velma (my starter) is fed and happy… and I am absolutely tuckered out šŸ„–

Day 2 of fighting another flare, but life keeps on keeping on regardless.
So I made me a little pick me up this morning to help me power through.
Frozen berries, fresh ginger and lemon, a pinch of salt and water.
Easy peasy. Hoping it does the trick

Quilts for my babies, herbs on the stove, and a little watching and waiting for Lavender’s kits to arrive.
She’s started pulling hair and nesting, so it won’t be long now before new life makes its way into the world.
In the middle of it all, we’ll be working on a birthday quilt, tending the home place, and keeping a close eye on her as the day continues.
Lets see what else this day has in store.

We finally got around to starting 2 new herb beds this week: lemon balm, spearmint, basil, and lavender. We also sewed some wildflower seed in between 🌸
They're not much to look at right now, but these will be full in just a few weeks, and I cannot waitšŸ¤

While the kids were outside playing, they found a nest that had been blown out with a newly hatched chick and several other eggs still inside.
We put it back and secured it the best we could so hopefully mama will return.
On another note, I finally got started on Jack’s quilt.
With 2 weeks until his birthday and a full plate like usual, I’m cutting it a little close šŸ˜…
