After 37 years of dedicated service, we are celebrating Lisa's retirement as Clinical Leader on 5E!

For nearly four decades, Lisa has been a calming presence for patients, a trusted teammate, and a valued source of knowledge and support for those around her.

Her commitment to exceptional patient care has touched countless lives and helped shape the Pre-Op department into what it is today.

Thank you, Lisa, for 37 years of compassion, dedication, and making a difference every single day. While we will miss seeing you in the halls, we are excited for this next chapter and all the adventures retirement has in store.

Please join us in wishing Lisa a healthy, happy, and well-deserved retirement!

Thank you to all our amazing night shift nurses for your dedication, compassion, and hard work that make such a difference in our patients' lives!

Caleb, Gay Blue, Kaylee, Jala, and Gabi from 10E continue care for our oncology patients while most of us are asleep, and they manage to do it with smiles on their faces, and for that, we are so grateful!

Thanks to Amanda, Social Media Ambassador, for highlighting some of our Nightshift crew!

Another 1 of our 10 great reasons to be an Upstate Nurse! 100% Local Leadership. Our administration is right here, in Syracuse, making important decisions at a local level — in ways that best support our staff and provide unsurpassed health care services to our community.

Tonya Seckner, MSN, RN, CPAN, Associate Director of Nursing for Perioperative Services, began her nursing career in 2002 as a new graduate in the PACU and has since demonstrated remarkable dedication and growth within the field. Through her commitment and leadership, she has advanced through multiple roles, including Clinical Leader, Assistant Manager, Manager, and Assistant Director of Perioperative Services.

Today, as Associate Director, Tonya continues to lead with passion, focusing on delivering exceptional perioperative care by prioritizing patient safety and ensuring staff are highly trained and confident in critical skills. Outside of her professional achievements, Tonya is also a proud lover of golden retrievers, because every great leader deserves a little extra joy and wagging tails in their life. Her journey is a true testament to hard work, perseverance, and excellence in nursing leadership!

Thank you, Tonya, for your leadership and teamwork!

Hands-on learning, teamwork, and staying prepared for anything!

Our Community Emergency Department nurses recently participated in their Annual Skills Fair for RNs and LPNs, led by Tammy Trovato, Ahlam T., Kaitlyn M., and Josh A. These annual trainings help our ED teams maintain and strengthen the critical skills they use every day to provide safe, high-quality patient care.

From blood draws and administering blood products to reviewing the Zoll cardiac monitor and other essential emergency care skills, this skills fair ensures our nurses stay confident, competent, and ready for whatever comes through the ED doors.

Thank you to everyone who helped organize and participate in this important training experience!

Thanks to Ellen, SMA for highlighting your team!
